Right now Sasuke is an enemy of Konoha. Technically. I know he himself is neutral in that but in the other countries eyes, technically he is an enemy to Konoha.
He is a part of an kind of leader of the Sound Village. He has nearly killed another member of Konoha village. He knocked out Sakura. He pledged his allegiance to an enemy village

and that if sasuke is doing the same thing as sand,...seeing as how he is now in charge of/disbanded the group that was making the decisions for sound village (orochimaru and his followers) they will follow him into battle with akatsuki...doing the same thing as sand village, which would make them nuetral at least, allies at most with sand/leaf village

I will say again. Naruto was completely shut down. It does not matter how much chakra you have. If you are shut down then you are shut down. The only way Naruto got back into the fight was because of the power of the Kyuubi. Has anyone also forgot the demon brothers and Naruto's fight with Kiba and Akamaru? Naruto due to the Kyuubi heals at an alarming rate so it is very quite possible that when the Kyuubi opened back up the Chakra points it allowed Naruto's natural flow of chakra to return.

If Naruto did not have the power of the 9 tails he would have been shut down and the fight would have been over.

Also who does not understand the purpose of storylines? Masashi had to figure out a way to make Neji loose so he could do some sort of life lesson because evidently everyone Naruto beats up magically turns into a better person (cry me a freakin river). He wanted to make Neji loose and the only way he could do that was make Neji let his gaurd down and deactivate his Byakugan.

Also was I watching the same fight or did everyone just miss the part when Neji (he started this late mind you) repelled the demon fox's chakra? I am not saying that Neji could beat Naruto at KN1,2,3 or 4. However when they fought Masashi fixed that fight from the beginning. Did everyone also notice that Naruto did not lay a hand on Neji until the very last hit (and may I reiterate that Neji's gaurd was down and the Byakugan was deactivated).

Also here is something for you to consider. Naruto could not win against Sasuke at KN1. Sasuke fought KN1 Naruto with virtually no help from his curse mark until the very end.

Anytime we do these debates we assume that both parties are fighting for win, no emotions or friendships involved.

I am looking forward until the day Naruto's greatness is realized. I am anxiously waiting to see it. Hopefully Masashi will stop dragging this immature state of Naruto out and a switch will flip and we will see a more solid, intelligent, stronger Naruto. Natural/Enhanced talent with no focus or Maturity is worthless. He just may very well be the strongest ninja in the village but strength is nothing without the ability to use it wisely and maturely. Love Neji, and he has lots of potential..similar to Kakashi, one of the most skilled ninjas around. But, I don't see him at same level, As Naruto, Sasuke, and in some ways Shikamaru. Sasuke has taken out two bigs dogs.. Deidra (who beat Gara) and Orochimaru. He is no longer in the Konha, but as a former member I will include him in discussion. Shikamaru, has taken out a Akatsuki, one that could not be killed no less. so despite, not having raw power, or extraordinary skills, he is powerfully deadly. Naruto, yes is Kiba powered, but you really can't separate the two because, that would be like saying Sasuke or Neji can't use their bloodline traits because it gives them an unfair advantage. But Naruto is also going way beyond just having extra chakra, his level of control and his understanding of how to use his shadow clones is going up another level.as he showed in taking out Kakuzu. He may not be the strongest, but I would say there are very few that could handle a full out assault of Naruto's power and skill. He really is not as dumb as he looks. :p My vote has to go for Naruto as overall strongest..

He sure did stir up the pot. It is my opinion that they all are strong within their own rite.

Neji defeated one of the sound 4 all by himself as a genin. The only other person who could was Chouji and he has to use a pill. Neji used his own intellect and skill alone. The fact that he hasn't really been utilized to his full potential (I feel) is a travesty of justice. I think he should definitely be in the top 4/5 above some people. I would even go as far to say the top 3 at least.

Shikamaru...
His intellect is the only reason he would be at least even in the top 5 (on the low end I would say but that is my opinion). He only defeated Hidan because he got a real good look at his technique as Hidan was killing his sensei Asuma. Hey, it was vengance so ofcourse Kishimoto had to let Shikamaru get another crack at him. So basically you have Shikamaru who knew his technique and also fueled with vengance and had a LOT of prep time take down Hidan who got a look at his own technique but probably didn't really care. This next statement might strike a nerve but it is my opinion. If Hidan aimed for Shikamaru instead of Asuma then it would have been Asuma getting revenge because Shikamaru would have been dead as a door knob. I would also go as far as to say if Pein didn't call Hidan and Kakuzu back they all would have died a terrible death. Shikamaru also did not have the strength to keep Hidan out of his sacrifice circle so one of the strongest as far as skill? Debatable? One of the strongest as far as mental capacity? Definitely.

Sasuke is not in the Konoha 11 so I am not even going there.

Shino, he has won every match he has been in but Kankorou pushed him to his limits. Yeah I know he got poisoned but still. Every weapon a ninja uses doesn't make it cheap. Top 5 maybe, definitely not top 3 in my opinion

Naruto is coming along well. But until I see him solo someone all by himself that we all call a badass then I do not really give him that much credit yet. You know someday he is going to be number 1 because the damn series is called Naruto. I just do not see it yet.

The question of the thread is who is the strongest, not the best, I think Neji is a better all around ninja, I would want him on any squad that I formed, he is disciplined and can be depended on. But that does not make him the strongest.
Naruto however, (and yes the show is about him so he has the advantage), has continuously taken on higher ranked opponents. I don't even want to count the number of times he has faced off with chuunin, and Jounin level foes as a Genin. Naruto is not the best ninja, he is unpredictable often lets himself get beat to a pulp while figuring out a strategy. But he can take a beating like no one else, and he can unleash attacks on levels very few can rival.

To the person who was speaking on Team Gai taking on Kisame. That was bound to be ackward. I doubt many of them aside from Gai had any real experience with a very capable water jutsu user. BUT who was the one who got the team out of the water prison? It was Neji Hyuuga baby. Besides, they were in no real danger but the second TenTen started to pass out Neji came in for the save. Besides, Gai is fighting, why not take a break and watch. I am being sarcastic ofcourse on that last part so don't take me seriously on that. Neji did save the rest of the team though.

neji is the best all around ninja but he can't beat naruto. and technically naruto always uses the kyuubi because he can turn it's chakra to his, so he has unlimited chakra. i'm pretty sure that in the manga shino was older than everyone, so that explains his skills. shikamaru can make up plans, but can he see these plans through. rock lee has a huge disadvantage but makes up for it with ridiculous speed and strength. hinata is just a kunoichi version of neji. ino can take over your mind and make you kill yourself and any thing sakura can do obviosly. tenten can rain down weapons such as kamas, katanas, kunai, fuuma shuriken, etc. kiba can turn into a giant two headed wolf (with akamaru whom is huge now) and urinate acid piss. sakura is a younger tsunade but she always finds some way of being usless when it comes to sasuke being around. chouji's trans fat gets added to his chakra and when he goes butterfly all the chakra that was stowed away just comes out in a way that he can't control it all. if you wanna add sasuke to the mix, right now he can beat naruto because the sharingan can supress kyubbi chakra, and this is just an observation but i think the kyuubi chakra can cancel out the grand fireball jutsu

Naruto beat neji, and for those of you who say "HE USED THE 9-tail" He barely used it...because his physical appeareance didn't even change, such as his eyes, and hands, and he didn't even have the kyubi cloak (Which I doubt some of you even know what that is)

Naruto only lost to sasuke because sasuke was at cursed seal LEVEL 2, and naruto had only 1 TAIL, if Naruto was fighting sasuke with 2 tails he would of knocked sasukes lights out in half a second. Plus, his arm was broken, therefore sasuke had the advantage when he did his chidori.

Naruto has the power of a hokage even though he is a genin.

In all honesty though, I don't think we can REALLY answer this question quite yet, because we havn't seen all of the Konoha 11 fight in the shippuuden arc.

I think people we can count out are.

- Ino (she spotted akatsuki by going in2 a hawk, WOW!!! otherwise useless.)
- Chouji (we have seen him fight (in the manga) but he got slapped down by Kakuzu quite quickly.)
- Tenten (When we saw her fight, she hit her limit quicker than the others, had a hard time keeping up with Team Gai, and her weapon technique isn't exactly the most glorious thing in the Naruto world)
- Rock Lee (just repeating wut we alrdy kno on this guy. While he's extremely good with Taijutsu, he lacks the ability to do ninjutsu or genjutsu, so if his Taijutsu fails him... well, he get's rolled.)
- Sakura (almost didn't want to put her in here after her's and Chiyos fight against Sasori, but she's simply outshined to much by the other people (crap reason I kno) so I had 2 put her in here.)

Out of the other 6, I'd most likely put Hinata, Shino, and Kiba with the 5 people above, but this links to why I say that we can't really answer this question yet. We simply havn't seen them fight yet. For all we know, one of those 3 might have become SUPER POWERFUL (99.99999% sure that didn't happen) and totally own the other 10. Chances are, as I just stated, that this isn't the case, and since they aren't that special we could put them up with the other 5.

So if I was to give an answer even with the fact that we havn't seen all 11 of them fight. I'd have to say it's between Naruto, Neji, and Shikamaru.

Shikamaru - He's crazy smart, and always seems 2 be a step or 3 ahead of the fight, this helps him win a lot of the fights that he's in. He may not be the most powerful jutsu wise, but he's smart, so that's y I put Shikamaru with these 3.

Neji - Probably 1 of the better all around ninjas, has a crazy defence, is pretty damn smart, and has that Byakugan which helps quite a bit with both his offence and defence.

Naruto - Basically I put him here because all Naruto seems to do is gain strength all the time. He's always getting stronger, and developing his powers (though with the help of others). I mean cmon, he killed Kakuzu 2 times over and nearly a 3rd time (basically did, he was just hanging on). Naruto probably has the strongest jutsus out of the konoha 11. He'd probably be the strongest outright if he had a brain 2 match his power

Sasuke - He is driven by rage, sorrow, and vengence. He has took over Orochimaru (basically reversed the body transfer) so I am not sure if that means he HAS Orochimaru's power but he can perform some of the same jutsus Orochimaru can do (as in summon manda, probably a feat in itself). It is unknown if he can counter the MS or not but I doubt many people in the Naruto series would be an even match for him. Even before he could control the Curse Mark fully he defeated the 1 tail. 3 years later he may be able to do a whole lot more.

Neji - By far my favorite character in the Naruto series. He has trained his Byakugan to not only see the Chakra circulatory system but to also see the tenketsu (chakra points allowing chakra to flow throughout the body). He has learned techniques that were known only to the main branch family merely by training himself. He is the only one of the Konoha 11 that is a jounin. In 3 years time he reached that. I would venture to say that title isn't just given out like candy. I know that the majority loves the sharingan and they think "Sasuke is so cool and the sharingan looks so cool". I choose to go against the grain, not with the flow. Neji's resume is proven, tried and true. Yeah, I know he "lost" to Naruto but after that he vowed to never loose again. He has kept that promise.

Sai - Mystery man... He has shown to be very resourceful and powerful himself. Though he is no Sasuke, he is very strong. If not then he would not be a secret operative for Root. You think you get that way by being just ok or just being "good"? I would venture to say you got to BE one of the BEST to even think about going that route.

Naruto - He is a contradiction in himself. He is able to perform an S level jutsu. But all through the series we have seen him run into situations and get the crap beat out of him. I guess in that fashion he is a believable character "Believe it". I guess now you do see him becoming more mature. The only thing that turned me right back off was when Itachi simply wanted to "talk" and in true Naruto fashion he charges in and gets caught in what seemed to be an illusion (Not sure if it was or not). I am sitting there saying to myself "you idiot, see what he has to say". It isn't like Itachi has the reputation of being a liar (even though I do not think he is responsible for the massacre of his clan, well solely responsible). Instead of charging and screaming he wants Sasuke back, assess the situation. He isn't coming back until he settles things with Itachi, just accept it. Let them fight it out, then address it if he is still alive. Things will NEVER be the same again.
Anyway I do feel that when he is mature enough and he masters that key jutsu in controling the Kyuubi's chakra in any tailed form then he will be a supreme force to be recogned with. Until then, if he is fighting against someone who knows how to supress the Kyuubi's chakra he will always be strong but not the strongest. The potential is there WITH the Kyuubi but not without it.

I agree in most of things you said and disagree in few of them :o

firstly: why the heck did you put the word 'lost' into inverted commas? he lost, face it.
and secondly: you said that naruto has no potential without kyuubi (or I just get it wrong, cause my english isn't so good xD)? he has GREAT potential. HE has enough chakra for THOUSAND kage-bunshins, while normal person has enough chakra for 2, maybe 3 of them. he developed the most fearful, destructive, amazing and unreal jutsu all by himself. even the strongest ninja till now (minato) couldn't do it.
he also learn to use rasengan in a little more than ONE week. and to remind you: the only people who can/could perform it are jiraiya, kakashi, minato (they're all one of the strongest and respected ninja ever) and now naruto.
he was capable to do all that WITHOUT kyuubi.
I can't believe that anyone can say he's without potential if there would be no kyuubi inside of him...

In my opinion I will be talking about ALL 13 just to give my perspective. I am going to go in order to who I think is the strongest and why I feel that way. I will also start with the weakest...

12. Ino - She has not shown herself to be a strong ninja. However she did realize her weakness and sought out to get training from Tsunade. She could be much stronger now but I only deal with the cards I am dealt and what I have seen. If you think about it, Shino is probably the most powerful.

If we're talking of power, you can't include the Kyuubi no Youko in the equation for Naruto. It's not his power. It's the Kyuubi's.

Shino is strong, both in Tai- and Ninjutsu, as well as intelligent and probably the second-best tactician (can't beat Nara Shikamaru). His bugs have a perfect chance against people and can resist against fire techniques - which most people would expect to be strong against them. He won his fight in the Chuunin exams without getting hurt, not a tiny bit. As well as this he's cool as sin.

Naruto is too much of a diehard to win, the only reason he does is because he's too pig-headed to give up and die, like any decent human being.

Rank as a ninja does not show how strong you are. Neji - spent most of his time sitting in a technique of kisame's watching Gai fight him 1 on 1, before he finally said, O HEY, I GUESS I SHOULD GET OUT OF THIS. In the end it was Gai who mainly killed off the clone.

Naruto - started the fight in a genjutsu, instead of sitting back watching and waiting, he remembers his training and immediately sets out 2 break the genjutsu. We go through all the steps, and eventually Sakura and Chiyo help him break the genjutsu. After that, Himself and Kakashi BOTH double team Itachi quite effectively and due to good teamwork, eventually finish off the Itachi clone.

Not only that, but I think we can agree Itachi is stronger than Kisame. So Naruto also had the harder person to fight than Neji, yet look who was more useful.

I watch all three versions.
But it's based off the manga.
Masashi Kishimoto is in charge of what happens.
I could careless if someone else does something becuase it's not the original.
Masashi Kishimoto was working on the manga when they made those fillers.
It did not happen in the manga.
Therefore it doens't count.
While this is in subtitled, this couldn't be more stupid, because if your basing it off the fillers then your wrong.
Crazy stuff happens in the fillers.
They have them set off from the storyline in subtitled, which means it's being written by someone else, to give Kishimoto time to write more.

I strongly disagree with the Shino comment. You know why too. You hold a torch for Shino if you want. Kankorou and Shino got owned by each other. In my opinion it was not challenging as the other fights we have seen. Until I see him beat someone noteworthy then he is just another ninja. If he is so Bad then why is he never in any movies? He is hardly in any main story lines.


Shino wasn't owned by Kankuro.

Neji pushed Naruto to his limit. It was ONLY by the demon fox's chakra that he was able to even get back into the fight.

And GEEZ, the only way Naruto won against Neji is because he was careless (he even stated that). His gaurd was down and the Byakugan was deactivated.
