I say Naruto would win easier than he would in Shippuden.
Naruto was more reckless, stupid and rushed into things back then. His "fight" with Mizuki he summoned like 1000 clones. Over the top a bit?
I say Naruto if he is stupid enough to summon that many shadow clones.

when naruto uses kage bunshin he doesn't use kyuubi's chakra.
that's his own chakra. isn't it?
he is using kyuubi's chakra only when he ask for it or when he gets red eyes

exactly. to be more specific kakashi said naruto has 100× more chakra than he, if the kyuubi's chakra is under control (and that means it's not in use)...
