Im not sure if Id say its a tie, in his prime, Sarutobi would be stronger for sure, that being said im not taking anything away from Jiriya but sarutobi was his teacher so

Yes, they didn't have any choice but to attack Sarutobi.
But they weren't holding back..

And no one can know what other abilities 2nd has that weren't mentioned in anime/manga.
And the only time we saw 2nd's abilities in anime/manga was in the fight with Sarutobi.

I think Jir would take this as long as Death reaper seal isn't used (which technically wouldn't be a win) Why? Jir with his ability to use his sage techniques (much, much , much stronger than ninja techniques) is far stronger than the third could ever be (in his prime) plus he is able to summon any toad needed and a silly monkey can't take a 2 ton frog who lobs giant blobs of water which can take out hectometers of forest.
