Which is better? To me, I like the Nintendo DS more than the PSP since the DS has a better game library, better gaming style, more original games and has a touch screen.
The PSP is more for media stuff (an iPod's job).

I prefer the PSP. The DS is more for the casual gamer. Lots of good games. It's touch screen is unique as well.
But the PSP has a more solid variety of games, not to mention that the graphics are 10x better than that of the DS. Compare Ridge Racer DS to Ridge Racer PSP. Oh, and that reminds me! One of the DS's worst genres is racing games. Every racing game on it is horrible except Mario Kart DS. However, for PSP, there are tons of great racing games. Also, the controls are better. The DS's buttons keep you more than occupied and then there's the stylus. Yes, the touch screen is good, but in most games, it's only used to touch some part and use a special move. It's not worth the number of controls literally going out of hand. Thesides, in games like Metroid Prime Hunters, where you use the stylus to control your range of view, it's really hard to control it. Also add the fact that the DS lacks a thumbstick, which will make it hard to move around in RPG's, when the PSP has a thumbstick.
Add all this to the fact that the PSP has more space for videos, music, downloaded games, and even the Internet connection, the PSP is the definite choice if you have the cash.

The Ds has more variety and quality of games, psp has better graphics but not very many compaines are making games for the psp because the ds has sold more units.

I personally like them both ^^
Even though I only have a DS Lite and not a PSP, I find both of them fun :]
Some games that I like only are for PSP though T.T

I like the DS over the PSP. Good games and such.

Well, let's start with the PSP.
First of all it has a decent graphic on the most of the games while the rest are just so bad I don't even want to look at it. The gameplay for the most of the games are pretty good but these games aren't those games that lasts forever so when you have finished playing a game then it'll get very boring. :xd:
But the PSP is mostly for media if you ask me since most of the games aren't good at all.
Now the DS.
The DS is a very charming handheld console with some funny and cute games! And it makes it even more fun when you have a little pen to play around with! But the graphics here aren't good at all, some games have good graphics like for example Phoenix Wright, Pokemon and New Super Mario Bros.
The gameplay on the DS last longer actually if you have friends that have DS too and on the most of the games there are minigames that are enjoyable with friends. So I think the DS was mostly designed for playing with friends while the PSP is more for media. :)
So I don't really know which one I like the most...:S

I'll make this quick, The DS.
PSP
I don't like the Psp that much, but it still has some great games. The unfortunate part, is that those games can be counted on both hands, giver or take a few toes. It's really a media device like All Sony products. Frankly ps1 to early p2 level graphics isn't enough to win me over, and UMD is a format that will go the way of the beatamax. The main flaw with the system is simple. SECOND ANALOG STICK. that's the only real reason the system fails in comparison to the DS. But the PSP has done FAR and i mean FAR BETTER than anyone else who has tried to challenge Nintendo in the Handheld market.
DS
Like any game device is was open to a slew of terrible casual games. This happens to all systems, NO EXCEPTIONS. But after a few yeas it has garnered far more better games. However, I'm still made Halo DS was scraped.
Anyway, There's has been less of a casual rump and more true games. Despite seeing tons of personal trainer games at your local Wal-Mart, that doesn't mean casual rules supreme on the system. More core titles, as most people put it, have more edge over shovel ware. Also better battery life and the fact the most games give you the option to use the touch pad is flippin' amazing. It shows developers are not trying to force useing the thing when people don't want to, and that's great. But then again Nintendo has yet to fail with any of their handhelds, and they will most likely dominate that market. And no the Gameboy Micro doesn't count.
I still wish they would come out with Loco Roco 2 already >:|

DS is cheaper, has more games and is generally more reliable. Also considering the small screen sizes of the PSP and the DS I wouldn't really be too interested in the "graphics" of a game I'm playing anyway

When it comes to design, size and etc then I think I prefer DS eventually.
And Nintendo seems to be more creative than Sony when it comes to the colors and such.

DS for the win.
I own both, and as much as I love Bluey (what I call my blue PSP lol), it's just not as much of a gaming machine compared to the DS. I got mine by selling the free iPod Touch that came with my Mac. Why? Because I felt, and still feel, having it as my music player is just so gamer of me, lol. And the things I can do with Bluey are fun, but in the end, DS is just the better handheld.
If anyone argues that the difference in graphics really matter, they're crazy. In all honesty, it's not the days of NES and giant GameBoy people. As long as graphics don't look blocky, it's good. I for one dislike games that focus on graphics over the actual gameplay.
Graphics are just the pretty decorative frosting on the cake. It should matter more if the cake actually tastes good.

But the graphics in the games will ruin the gameplay because if the graphics isn't good it will occur bugs, glitches and sometimes even slow or choppy gameplay.

But the graphics in the games will ruin the gameplay because if the graphics isn't good it will occur bugs, glitches and sometimes even slow or choppy gameplay. That's when it's poor quality, as not done right. That's a whole other story. That's when the frosting tastes bad and ruins the cake.
I'm saying just because one's more "realistic looking" doesn't make it better. That doesn't ruin the gameplay. The DS doesn't offer the same amount of realism in graphics that the PSP does, but the graphics aren't buggy, or glitchy, or anything like that. It runs fine in it's own right. So it doesn't loose points in my book.
If any games run bad, blame the makers, not the system. There's a reason millions of particular Atari games are buried in a desert in New Mexico. They were low quality even for the hardware at the time.

If the games are bad, who wants to buy the console then?

^I'm pretty sure that's not the case for either the DS or the PSP, at least from my experience with them. The games I've played and seen all run very well. Although, with the PSP, it's limited by how many actual interesting games there are.
It's never just one company that makes all the games for a system anyway (at least since NES and onward).

Most of the PSP games aren't even close to being as interesting and charming as the DS games, I would rather play some cheap flash game instead of getting my PSP, I kind of regret getting one. :S

But at least NES made most of their games enjoyable but very hard. xD

Both have a wide variety of games. Though I would prefer having a Psp rather than a Ds. Besides the graphics being better and all, along with the Ds touch screen. Both bring something to the table for the average gamer satisfying their needs and wants. At the end of the day their all gaming consoles dishing out some time for entertaining. But when it boils down to it I'll just have to go with the Psp.

Oh I know, I just wanted to point that out. :)Oh, OK lol
Most of the PSP games aren't even close to being as interesting and charming as the DS games, I would rather play some cheap flash game instead of getting my PSP, I kind of regret getting one. :SI guess I only like Bluey because it has a nice big screen to watch videos on, the storage is changeable (with the SD chips), it's my music player, and it can also play games. It's a good multitasker for those boring trips.
But at least NES made most of their games enjoyable but very hard. xDThat's why. Nintendo let other people make games, and they had to get them approved by Nintendo to have them out (or at least to obtain their seal).
Oh yeah, that's right, third party game making companies (as in those who made games for a system they didn't design) really started to form due to Atari. And for the same reason why all those games are in the desert now. xD The original people left due to not being credited with the games they made, and the people they hired to replace them sucked.
The people who left formed their own company, but still made games for the Atari 2600 instead of making their own system like other groups did. But things eventually became crazy with third parties, and Nintendo limiting their pool to games they deemed worthy helped them succeed.
I'd better stop myself now. :lmao:

Yeah, I bought that handheld stone because I thought it would have good games and because of the functions. And what you are saying here is too true! A multitasker indeed.
You shouldn't stop, I learned alot today! And it wasn't on a school day! :xd:
