Our same Amish friend who avoided the Harrison Ford treatment on Tuesday night upon conveying to us information being reported by Comcast SportsNet regarding the possibility of a new contract for Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb now advises us of a new report from CSN regarding the status of running back Brian Westbrook.

Per the report, Westbrook is out with a high ankle sprain.

How long? How about until the start of the regular season. Yikes.

Per the CSN report, Westbrook was examined in Baltimore on Wednesday by ankle specialist Mark Myerson. Apparently, Westbrook might need a procedure to “clean out” the ankle.

With Correll Buckhalter now in Denver, the job likely will fall to Lorenzo Booker and rookie LeSean McCoy.

But the Eagles also might now be in the market for a veteran tailback, such as Duece McAllister or Edgerrin James.

This could really hurt the Eagles in the long run, Westbrook may not be able to be fully capable of his abilities if he doesn't play until the beggining of the regular season. The Eagles need a veteren replacement for him now.
