Pallet Town and Route 1

[Nyanki]

Small compared to the other cities in the Kanto region, this little town is home of one of the greatest Pokemon laboratories in the Pokemon world. As such, it is responsible for handing out Pokemon to new trainers, as well as holding a vast collection of Pokemon info.

North of Pallet Town lies Route 1, which leads to Viridian City. It is home of many of the first Pokemon trainers see in the wild, such as Pidgey and Rattata.


Pokemon Locations

Pokemon at Laboratory -- Part of the "Starter for Everyone" program throughout the Pokemon World, should you not have received one of these rare Pokemon from a laboratory, you are entitled to a free one from any single laboratory in the Pokemon world that is part of this program. But this means you can't get one from a lab in Sinnoh, and then come get one from here. Or something like that.

Besides the standard starters, Kanto has a special secondary Pokemon. A Pikachu with one of three special attacks. Given to those from other regions of the world deciding to start a journey in Kanto. However, should you be coming to pick up one of the normal starters, you must wait to pick up the special Pikachu. Until you have won 4 badges, won 2 ribbons, or have traveled to every major city in Kanto, excluding the Indigo Plateau and Sevii Islands.

Blake had finished traveling up the long path when he finally reached his destination. The Pokemon Laboratory. Finally, I made it........but honestly who builds a research center on top of a hill now??.....He looked around and saw that he was alone and there was no one in sight.....with that he reached to his belt and pulled out four small balls, two in each hand.....and on these balls was a little button in which he pushed each of them with fingers....once he did that the balls expanded to an even bigger size.......Ok guys lets go....Blake said as he threw the balls in the air.....each of them opened with a flash or light and from out of nowhere four different Pokemon appeared before Blake.....

Ok guys, you know why were here right....Blake said while kneeling down.......Each of the pokemon looked dumbstruck.....well not really.......the largest one....who skin was a bright scarlet red which looked like it was made of metal or steel......just shrugged of and flew over to a nearby tree.....apparently not wanting to hear or listen...but the from the distance he was fom them he could still here....."Scizor" said the pokemon as it laid down on a branch while closing both of its eyes....."Quilavaaaa"....growled the blue and yellow pokemon that was nearest Blake.....Calm down Quil he's just being his normal self said Blake as he petted Quilava on the head and smiled....

Any way guys, the reason where hear is because where gonna add a new member to our team......Once they heard the three pokemon in front of him wen t back a little.....even Scizor opened one eye to the news.......Yeah remember....I talked bout this......I was thinking bout getting a grass partner to join us...."Swell Swell" yelled the blue winged pokemon....apparently overjoyed at the prospect of meeting someone new.....then a weird flash came over Swellow's eyes.....Swellow was grinning.....It seemed that Swellow was more interested in meeting a new battle opponent....."Espy".....said the light purplish pokemon as it curled up and went to sleep like Scizor......Blake looked at his pokemon....then looked at Quilava....This is how I got you remember..said Blake as he and Quilava started to reminisce......"Quilava Quil" muttered Quilava as it stood on its hind legs and looked directly at its trainer......So what do you think....said Blake as he stood up......Quilava looked at him and nodded..........They were ready to get a new pokemon and partner and teammate.....problem was.....I don't know who to pick......

"Oh, hello!" said a sweet voice, coming from the laboratory. Samantha dragged herself into the light. She had been inside the research lab doing studies and such. A Happiny followed her happily, enjoying being outside now.

"Welcome to the research lab, home of Professor Maple!" she smiled sweetly, "I was just coming out of the lab, when I heard you discussion about who you wanted to pick as a starter Pokemon.

"I've taken a look at your Pokemon, and I was wondering ... are you planning on starting your adventure anew with a fresh new Pokemon, or are you here to pick up one." she asked, her eyes glittering.

"You see, this research lab holds new pokemon for, well, new trainers. You can discuss this with Professor Maple, come inside!" she smiled, showing him the way in to the research laboratory.

Blake listened to the professor to what she was saying but also noticed the happiny standing next to her.... Uuuhgghhh, muttered Blake recalling a past experience with a happiny that wasn't so good......Once she finished she asked Blake if he wanted to start his journey anew with a new Pokemon or to pick on up......but the minute she said "anew with a fresh new Pokemon," both Quilava and Swellow looked directly at him wit glaring eyes.....even Espeon got up and glared at him.......In response to this Blake just laughed it off putting both his hand behind his head looking down at his the three......Com on guys you know that I would never think about leaving you guys and go on another journey... he said chuckling with a hint of fear from his pokemon....then he looked on towards the tree on which Scizor was sleeping on.....Not even him heheheheheh.....

He then looked at the professor and keepin his hands behing his head answered her....Actually I was wondering If I could pick up a starter pokemon from here to go with me on my journey.....He said as he started to head inside the lab........

Samantha nodded occasionally as she listened to him "Ah, I see" she said, pondering to herself. Would the Professor allow that? She glanced toward him as she nodded "Ah, yes. Professor Maple will be right with you. You can take a seat, if you wish".

Samantha strode into another room in the lab, going to fetch the Professor.

Blake immediately sat down the minute the girl left the room......All that traveling made him a little tired but he was used to it.....Wow, I can't believe I thought she was the professor....I mean yeah she would be a little to young to be one at this time but hey I've seen weirder things......

He sat there on there chair waiting patiently (Well not really cause he couldn't wait to get a new partner) examining all the insides of the lab......Well not so bad...its like the same back in Johto.....

Samantha walked in slowly "I do apologize, but Professor Maple has informed me that we are very limited on Starter Pokemon, so we must keep them for new trainers." she looked down to her feet. "I apologize. I hope you have a wonderful day" she tried.

As Blake heard this he stood up and trying to conceal his disappointment looked at the girl and shook her hand. Hey thanks it's ok......I guess i'm a just have to do it the old fashioned way you know......He said as he started to walk away.....Oh and tell the Prof. that I've heard about her and that if she ever wanted to then maybe we could have a battle together........He then remembered the Happiny........You to if you ever want to.....

Once Blake reached outside the lab he was greeted with a scene that he was used to seeing. His Quilava and Swellow were both battling each other while Espeon was busy eating a berry she found.....and of course Scizor was sprawled on top of a branch sleeping his days away.......Hey um guys...Blake said as both Quilava and Swellow and stopped....Espeon also stopped eating and looked at her trainer....Well as it seems guys were gonna have to get a new teammate the old fashioned way..... he said with a big smile on his face......he then reached his belt and picked out three pokeballs.....Ok you three lets go.....and with that a red light came from the three pokeballs and consumed Swellow, Espeon and Scizor. Well Quilava I guess our time here is done.....maybe we should go after a badge here don't you think....said Blake as he started to walk off....."Quil' uttered Quilava as it followed its trainer to the next destination............

Deep in the lab, Prof. Maple was hard at work. The insides of a PokeBoy were scattered across the desk before her. She wore protective goggles and held a soldering gun in her hand. This was precision work. When she lifted the tip of the tool from the part, she held her left hand out to her side. Without a word, a roll of metal wire was placed into her hand. "Thanks, Comet."

Upon on a high stool next to the Professor sat a Meowth. He, too, wore safety goggles. "Meeeeow!" the cat answered.

After a few more moments, Prof. Maple started returning the contraption back to its former self, piece by piece. After a final snap and a couple of screws, it was done. She took off her goggles and reached for a handkerchief, wiping her face. "Now, hopefully Johnny M. doesn't drop his PokeBoy off another cliff again." She laughed. "They can make it waterproof, but they can't make it break-proof."

Comet pulled his goggles down around his neck and jumped onto the Professor's shoulder. "Meow meooow," he said in agreement.

Prof. Maple placed the her goggles on the table and headed out of this room in the laboratory, out into the main one.

Samantha was sitting down, peacefully, reading a Pokemon Book entitled '101 Steps For Pokemon Breeding'. She looked up quickly as the professor walked in. She stood up in acknowledgment and nodded toward her "Hello there, Professor Maple!" she gleamed. She walked over to her "How did the PokeBoy fixing go?" she asked her, smirking.

People always leaned towards Professor Maple for help on anything. Samantha admired the professor, she remembered the first time they met ...

Samantha ran down the dusty walk of her home's front lawn, the sun casting pink and orange contrast into the deep, soft, specked with cloud's sky. Her eyes sparkled in an admiring fashion that warmed from inside her stomach, the only feeling that was conjured above when one was getting their first Pokemon.

And this was It. Samantha shot past her friends who called to her, wondering if she had received her first Pokemon yet. She ignored them, and ran up the steep hill toward the lab. Almost there, the pit of her stomach clenched and stressed, the nerves now attaining her. She hit her foot on a rock and stumbled down the hill, grass stains pecking all over her clothes.

Her hair was now messed, and she lay gurgled upon the ground, her eyes messed up from the fall. When she finally came back into normal consciousness, and her vision returned, she looked up. Professor Maple stood there, scanning the child as If she was a total doof.

"P-Professor Maple!" she gasped, quickly getting up, rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment "Uh-Uh, I'm here for my first Pokemon!" she smiled.

Professor Maple glared at her, with content in her eyes. What a nice person to not make fun of Samantha for stumbling like that;

"Er - Yes ... Well, you see, we're fresh out of starters. Your friends came and went all ready, packed on the Pokemon."

Samantha's heart stopped. Did this mean she could never, in her life, become a Pokemon Trainer?

"But, we do have another one. A Happiny. Very healthy ..."

[lolendflashback]

The flashback ended ... She smiled at Professor Maple.

Prof. Maple looked to Samantha. "Yes, it came along well."

"Meow, meooooow!" said Comet as he waved a hello.

The Professor tucked her handkerchief back into her pocket. After heading over to a cabinet, she placed the PokeBoy in a drawer. "If Johnny comes for it and I'm not around, it's under his last name." She pointed behind herself. "I'm going to give him a call right now." She turned and headed to her office, but at that moment, Comet hopped onto the desk.

The Meowth sat and licked his paws. He would wait out here. The goggles still hung around his neck and around his Everstone collar. When the goggles started to annoy him, he grabbed them with both paws and took it off, setting the pair on the desk.

Silver landed a little outside Pallet town. He then took out his bicycle as he rode into Pallet town. Silver looked around as he saw trainers setting of. He then entered the laboratory. He was there to claim a pokemon and to get the needed gear for his trip.

Silver walked into the lab like it was the one in Johto he worked at, forgetting his manners of knocking and speaking. He then walked abit into it and remembered his manners.

He then shouted "Hello, Professor. Its me silver." Last time he was here, his professor was here for a important matter.

Prof. Maple heard someone and stepped out of the small room she had been working in. The weight of her glasses seemed a bit out of place, so she brought her index finger to her nose and pushed them back. Then she continued on, out into the main part of the lab. She spotted him already a decent way into the lab. "Hello there Silver, what can I do for you today?"

[X-Drake]

Well I left the professor back in Johto to perfrom my own journey...I need everything from pokemon to gadgets...If that's okay madam? He said smiling politely.

[Nyanki]

(ooc: Since we have a new idea :D)

"Ah, I see. Since you've gotten a starter from the lab in Johto, you are certainly welcome to one of our special Pikachu." She knew the professor Silver used to work under. She knew he had received a Pokemon from his lab. "And you need a new PokeBoy? Something happen to yours?" she asked. Every would-be trainer could get one upon their tenth birthday, the age they were allowed to start the journey. "No matter, such things happen, and I can certainly hook you up with a new one."

[X-Drake]

"Sure" He said cutting her off as soon as he heard Pikachu...He then kept smiling till she was finished.


"I never got one as I left traveling before age and there was problems in johto then..." he said not smiling but not frowning...

"Then you'll get one today!" said Professor Maple with a smile. She gestured Silver to follow with a wave of her hand, "Come, it's all in the room over here." She walked toward a room nearby, making her way to the computer that was inside.

Her fingers moved across the keys rapidly. Three PokeBalls appeared on the table in the middle of the room soon after. "There are three types of Pikachu. One knows Volt Tackle, another Surf, and the last Fly." Before each PokeBall on the table was a symbol. A lightning bolt, a water droplet, and a cloud. Although the PokeBalls were up, Maple continued to type away.

silver followed her into the room and then listened to her talk. he then said "i got surf and fly so i'll take volt tackle pikachu...add it to my pc pokemon as i got 6 with me"

"Can do," she said, walking over to the table. Professor Maple picked up the Volt Tackle Pikachu and brought it back over to the computer. There was a little machine hooked to it with a pipe-looking protrusion coming out of the computer and hanging over it. After placing the PokeBall into the bowl of the machine. With a single hit of a button, the PokeBall glowed, and in a flash, it was gone.

Maple returned to typing. "Alright, now for your PokeBoy. Do you know what color you want?" She pulled out a camera from a lab coat pocket. "But first say cheese for your ID picture!" The camera was up to her face, her finger hovering over the button.

(ooc: I'll go add Pikachu to your character. You can pick the gender now in ooc, or when you decide to take it out of the computer)

Silver never moved for the picture having a normal face on. He then said "colour doesn't matter to me"

(ooc: But Canada spells things half like America and half like England. "defence" like England, and "defensive" like America for example. xD

The camera flashed, and Professor Maple turned back to the computer. After plugging a cord into the camera, she opened a nearby drawer, taking out a silver-colored PokeBoy. Hey, it was his name, and he had a lot of silver on him, so why not? After opening the device and turning it on, she put in a cartridge that was pure white into the back slot of the device. Maple tapped on the screen a few times, then a sort of ringing sound emitted from the device. Once it stopped a few moments later, she turned it off and handed it to Silver.

"And there you are, all set to go, Silver," the professor said with a smile.

"Thanks...Now I have to go" he said waving before runing of..he then stopped and relaised the salamence he had on him was experienced enough to beat most gym leaders and people exculding the elite four.

*hmm..Hitmonchan, Gravler, Machoke and Arcanine are all strong..pikachu and eevee are good...and pikachu doesn't know me so...* he thought as he went back in.

"Can I store this salamence and bring out pikachu please" he said ready to conquer this land as the best.

"Sure. There's a PC out in the lobby, or you can put Salamence there," Professor Maple said, pointing at where she had placed the Pikachu PokeBall just a minute or two before, "and I'll do the switch for you here."

(ooc: Either way, I'll do the switch without you having to use the PC thread, since I'm already here. xD I just need to know what gender you want Pikachu to be.)

A door opened in the Laboratory and in walked Tim. The halls looked empty.
"Excuse, is there professor here?" said Tim as he slowly walked in looking around. "I'm looking for my starter Poke'mon."

A Meowth jumped down from a nearby shelf. It looked up at Tim. "Meow meoooow." It had a collar around it's neck with an Everstone on it. It started walking toward a room. After getting about halfway to it, the Meowth stopped and sat down. "Me-meowth," it said as it gestured with its paw for Tim to come after it.

"Aw, how adorable." Tim began walking toward it.

OOC: Stacy I'm stopping here in the interest that the Meowth is doing something, basically Tim's about to pet it, but if you want it to run off or something go ahead.

(ooc: Oh, my bad. I missed your post >.< Yeah, if your character would already have a bike, it's fine. If you wanted to buy one, you'd have to get it from a store in the city, not a town like here.

"Bye now, and best wishes on your journey," said Professor Maple to Silver as he left.

The Meowth just sat and let the young boy approach. "Meoooowth."

Maple heard Comet outside of the door, and she poked her head out. "Oh, another visitor!" Maple stepped out of the room. "Are you here for a Pokemon?" It seemed like it, judging from his age.

Tim bent down and patted the Meowth on the head. And looked up spoke to the Prof.

"Yes, I am. Could you help me?" asked Tim after finally bending straight.

"Cinnabar, eh? It's always nice and warm down there." She turned away from the keyboard, then held out her hand towards the table. "Do you know which Pokemon you want? You're free to let them out and see them if you're not sure yet."

The Meowth made his way into the room, jumping up on a nearby filing cabinet.

[Vindicate]

Tim put his Poke'ball back into his bag. He then made a fist and clenched it in front of his face. "No way! I already know who I want!" (cheesy catchphrase from the show) Tim grabbed a Poke'ball off the table. "I choose you," he tossed the ball "CHIMCHAR!" the ball exploded in white light. When the light disapated there was Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur looked at Tim with a dumbfounded look "Bulb?". Tim went silent and his arm which was extended after throwing the Poke'ball went limp and fell to his side. Tim scootched closer to Professor and whispered in her ear (or his, I don't know the gender of your character) "Um, Professor," he whispered "could you hand me the ball with Chimchar in it?" Bulbasaur fell on his back hard as he grasped that Tim's an idiot.

Professor Maple nodded with a smile, then walked over to the table. She picked up the second PokeBall from the right end and held it out to him. "Here you are, Tim."

After giving it to him, she asked, "Have you received your PokeBoy yet, or will you be getting one here?" This device was used by trainers all over the Pokemon world. The laboratory was one of the many official places for giving them out.

[Vindicate]

"No ma'am, I don't have one right now. You'd be willing to give one--" just then Bulbasaur headbutted Tim in the leg and he face planted on the hard linoleum floor!

"Bulbasaur!" Professor Maple took the grassy Pokemon's PokeBall. "Return if you're going to be that way." In a red beam of light, it disappeared.

"Sorry about that," she said as she put the PokeBall into a lab coat pocket. "But yes, you can get it here." She went back to the computer and started typing in Tim's name and where he was from, finding his profile. Then she picked up the camera she had set down on the counter and turned to Tim. "Say cheese!"

The three made their way onto Route 1, a grassy place full of Pokemon. "Just think, after we get our Pokemon, we won't have to worry about sticking to the paths." Audrey kicked a small stone that was on the road. "And so many other things. This'll just be so awesome." She paused for a moment, then spoke again. "I'm going to get a tough Pokemon." Audrey held her arm forward like a boxer making a punch.

Ricky thought about what kinda Pokemon he wanted. I want a cool Pokemon, that is friendly, but can still rise to the occasion. He moved his hands in various gestures as he talked about his Pokemon. Look, we are almost there. He pointed, if you looked you could see the lab from here, but just barely.

[X-Drake]

Silver was at the start of route one...He had the goal of getting past and not fighting any weak...He had all his pokemon walking around him..All of them had a evil glare which didn't let weak pokemon get close...It was like a shield.

While walking he saw a Pidgeot..He looked at it and felt a burning sensation as he wanted it.."Marshy Mud shot...Croco lightly ice the mud with Ice beam" he commanded as Marshstomp shot a ball of mud before Croconaw froze it..It then almost hit the Pidgeot. The Pidgeot was leading a pidgy and never bothered to retaliate. It then flew of.

"hmm seems like it wasn't in the mood...but good try marshy, Croco." he said disappointed but not broken. "hmm next time." he thought

"I want a......." Jimmy was about to go on and on about the kind of pokemon he wanted and how cool it was gonna be, but then he realised he had no idea what kind of pokemon he wanted. He quickly became caught up with his own thoughts, thinking about what kind of Pokemon he wanted. "I just want a pokemon that'll be good friend..." Jimmy said after a while, because he couldn't think of anything cool to say and because he didn't want to look any more stupid.

Audrey was a bit ahead, as they made their way through town and towards the lab. They had come back and forth to Pallet Town several, if not many, times in their lives. Especially when they went to visit friends from school who lived in Pallet Town. But most of the time, they would just see the town from Route 1 when they dared to play on it.

"We're almost there!" she said as they approached the doors.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky caught up and placed his hand on the door to the lab. This is it guys, this marks the beginning of our journey to become the worlds greatest trainers, and catch all the Pokemon we can! He smiled and pushed the door opening inward. With that he stepped in and looked around. The lab was more than he had expected. He had never been here, but it was way better than something he would expect. He looked up, it felt like the ceiling was forever high. He looked around. Here we are guys. A big smile crossed his child like face.

"Ricky, your so lame...." Jimmy said trying to act for no reason in particular. He walked forward into the cool air-conditioned atmosphere of the lab. It was a bit to cold for Jimmy's liking. Everything seemed so shiny and organized. It reminded him of his house. Jimmy's mom was a clean-freak. She would clean everything 50 until it sparkled, if she had to. There were some places stacked high with books and papers on desks though. Jimmy sighed he almost wanted to go clean. His mother was rubbing off on him.

"Hellooooooo!" Audrey didn't see anyone, and she figured the professor was in one of the back rooms or something.

Professor Maple set down the camera when she heard Audrey. "Busy day today!" She poked her head out of the room. She saw that they were young children, so she assumed what they were here for. "Come for your first Pokemon? Right in here!" She took the Bulbasaur from her pocket and placed it back. After a few keys were hit on the computer, a new Chimchar filled the place Tim's once was.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky looked at the twelve Pokeballs, and approached them. Picking up three randomly, he threw them into the air and in three flashes of light stood the Pokemon. Now where the 4th, 5th and 6th Pokeballs had sat, were empty slots. And on the floor stood a Chikorita, a Cyndaquill, and a Totodile.

Ricky eyed each one of them, the Cyndaquill looked a bit to much for his liking, and the Totodile stood just jumping up and down. While the Chikorita sat calmly looking up at him with calm eyes. I want the Chikorita please. He held his hand down, he went to scratch under the Chikorita's chin, who oddly let him. I'm gonna call you Chico. He chuckled at the shortened name.

Jimmy glanced down, examining the two remaining pokemon. He noticed the cyndiqual that just seemed to be examining the tiles on the floor, as if counting them, not paying any attention to the trainers. The flaming spikes igniting as it counted each tile. This made Jimmy smile. He picked up the cyndiqual who seemed aggrivated that it's counting game was interupted. It attempted to squirm free of Jimmy's hands so that it could count. Jmmy placed the cyniquil on his cap allowing it to stand there and count the tiles. It would have a better view from up there anyway.

Seeing the other two get their Pokemon already, Audrey looked down to see what was left. The Totodile jumped twice, then grinned, showing its mouth of pearly white, sharp teeth. "Perfect!" She stepped over to the Totodile, then gave a pat on the head. "This one is perfect." She figured she could get the Totodile to bite people, which would be fun.

The professor smiled. "So I see you guys are all set. That was fast." It looked like that random pick of Ricky's was the right one. "Do you three already have your PokeBoys, or were you getting them here?"

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky was still playing with his Chikorita. We got them from the Pokemon center in Viridian, but I personally was wondering if you had any special skins for them? He pulled out his blue Pokeboy and showed it to Professor Maple like she had never seen one in her life before or something.

He picked up his Chikorita, and placed him up on his shoulder. There you go Chico, now you don't have to look up at anyone. He smiled and looked back to the professor and his eyes lit up. Oh can we get Pokeballs here to?

Jimmy didn't really care much about his Pokeboy. He barely knew how to use it. He reached his hand up to pet cyndaquil. The cyndaquil thought that Jimmy was trying to ruin her counting game again so she turned around and used her quils to burn his hand. "OW!" Jimmy yelled loudly out of no where. He pulled his hand down to see it bright red and burnt. He sighed. He was probably going to have to get used to that.

[Nyanki]

"Skins? Well, we have two varieties for free here." The professor went over to a cabinet and pulled them out of a drawer. "There's the standard PokeBall one, and this one with paw prints." She held two examples of them out.

At the sound of the paw print ones, Comet said, "Meow meeeeeowth." Then he grinned. It was a sure sign that he had something to do with having that version.

"About PokeBalls," Maple continued, "yes, you may each have some."

The Totodile was happy it had a trainer. It waddled on its feet a bit. It seemed pretty feisty.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky looked over to Chikorita, and smiled. Chico, which do you like paw prints or pokeballs? The Chikorita seemed to be contemplating which choice to make and then it rose its head up and padded its feet, like it was trying to make prints. Paw prints for me please. Though Chikorita was still padding, now he was just being silly, causing Ricky to let out a sorta high pitched laugh.

Then he realized they were getting Pokeballs. Sweet, thanks Professor.

At the mention of pokeball Jimmy got excited. He couldn't wait to get out there and explore, Have a few laughs with Cyndaquil, draw a bit. He was estatic. He began tapping his foot against the ground like he ussually did when he stood still for more then five minutes. He tried again to pick Cyndaquil up. This time she didn't object. She seemed to find something else to occupy her intrests. She was acctually glad at the chance of movement. Jimmy held her in his arms using his good arm to support most of the weight as he waited to receive pokeballs.

The professor pulled open another drawer. From where the kids were standing, they couldn't see inside, but it was a safe guess that it was full of PokeBalls. "Now, open your hands," she said.

Audrey was the closest, so she got her PokeBalls first. The professor took five PokeBalls out with both hands. Then she held them out to Audrey, pouring them into the girl's hands once Audrey held them out. She then repeated the process for Jimmy, and then Ricky.

"Anything else I can do for you?"

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky took the Pokeballs with a polite thank you, and opened a pouch on his backpack dropping them in. Then he looked on the floor where the three empty Pokeballs lied, he picked up the one closest to him. He didn't bother placing Chikorita in it. He just dropped the tiny Pokeball into his backpack, and at the same time he pulled out his iPod. Unwrapping the cord and placing one of the phones into his ear, he didn't turn it on yet though. No thank you, I'm fine, though not sure about everyone else. He looked over to Jimmy and Audrey. We good guys?

Jimmy grasped the pokeballs trying to balance then between his chest and his arms. He placed Cyndaquil on his shoulder so that he could have more room to maneuver and place the pokeballs back in his backpack. He picked one of the pokeballs nearest to him off the ground and attached it to the strap of his backpack. That was for cyndaquil. That was if he ever needed it.

"Thanks Mrs. Proffesor! and I'm good what about you Audrey?"

Audrey slid the five PokeBalls into a pocket on her backpack, just as the other two had done. She picked up the PokeBall that was left on the floor, which belonged to Totodile. She put it in her pocket. "No, I'm good."

"Alright then. Well, good luck on your adventure. Have fun!" The professor sent them on their way. Three more trainers would be out in the world now. She turned to Tim. "Did you decide what color PokeBoy you wanted?"

[Kuro Nagashi]

As the group was sent on their way, Ricky turned on his iPod and scrolled through his list of songs. When he found one he liked he clicked the middle button and turned the volume up to his liking. As the music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9EgOWWExhA) played in his left ear, and Chikorita on his right shoulder he began to sing along. ♪ You make me feel, so alive that I'm tryin' not to make moves choosing the wrong place and time ♪ He could actually carry a pretty good tune. He opened the door to the lab and walked out as his Chikorita just stared at him, for singing.

Tim slowly got up with blood running down his right nostril. No problem he said as if he had a stuffy nose.

Tim then perked up and made a piece sign while smiling!

Jimmy pushed open the door to the lab walking out into the brisk, cool air, as he shouted another quick thanks over his shoulder. It was still early in the morning since they left pretty early themselves. As they walked outside, Cyndaquil's draw dropped a little. She was amazed by all of the things around her. During her time at the lab she didn't get out that often, it was either that or it felt kind different this time for her. Her dumfounded expression turned into a sort of a smile as she recklessly crawled down Jimmy's back running around his feet or up and down the stairs Jimmy just smiled keeping a careful eye on his new friend to make sure she didn't run off anywhere. "Where to next guys?! I can't wait to go out and explore!" a goofy grin spread across his face.

Professor Maple picked up the camera and took the picture. "Alright, do you know what color PokeBoy you would like? You can always customize it later." The camera was still hooked to the computer from the last time.

"Let's go do some training," said Audrey. Totodile followed right behind her. She looked towards Route 1. "We could either do it here or try the Viridian Forest. Which sounds better?" It didn't really matter to Audrey, she just wanted to get out and use some attacks. Battle, gain experience, all that good stuff.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky's eyes gleamed as he looked at route 1. I heard there were wild Shinx out here, I wanna try and find one. He said as his iPod still played in his ear. The group came close to the route, but they hadn't reached the grass yet. He looked over to Chikorita and picked him up, lightly placing him on the ground.

We gonna catch you a friend Chico. Chikorita looked up and then back to Route 1 and ran up a little bit ahead, though it was only like five feet ahead.

Jimmy tailed behind Ricky just as excited as his two friends. It was hard not to break into a jog from all the energy. Ussually this early in the morning he'd have falled asleep on the sidewalk but, not today. Cyndaquil seemed just as energetic. She ran frantically back and forth taking in all the scents and sights. She acted as she would never go back outside again in her life. Eveything seemed so....unusual.....like a dream that would change at any moment. Jimmy continued forward towards the grassy area's. His first encounter with a pokemon since becoming a trainer was coming up he couldn't wait.

[Nyanki]

"Alright, Route 1 it is!" Audrey ran into the think grass, far off from the road. Totodile was right alongside her. Sure enough, the two quickly came across a Pokemon. It was a Rattata! The purple mouse Pokemon bared its fangs and showed it was ready for a battle. "Totodile, you're a Water-type, so you must know a Water-type attack, right?" Audrey pointed at the Rattata. "Use it! Bubble, Water Gun, whatever it is!" She didn't have the time to look up what attacks her Totodile should know right now, but Audrey would do her best to figure it out. She tried to remember what they had learned in school about the starter Pokemon.

Totodile nodded and opened its mouth, sending a blast of water at the Rattata. The attack hit, knocking it back a bit and getting it all wet. The Rattata still seemed pretty energetic. It charged at Totodile in a Tackle attack, knocking the little gator to the ground.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky saw Audrey get into her battle. Chikorita was already a bit ahead scoping for Pokemon. Ricky came up to, keeping his eye out for any Shinx he could find, but he didn't see anything yet. When out of the grass popped up a HootHoot. Not a Shinx but it will get us started. He looked over to Chikorita who was already ready for a battle.

Okay Chico, so this is a flying type it will have the advantage. We gotta hit it hard and fast. He stood remembering what type of moves Chikorita knew, he suddenly remembered as the HootHooy was already coming in for a peck attack. Hit it with razor leaf! The Chikorita flicked its head causing severeal leaves to head for the Hoothoot. Though the attack hit, the bird Pokemon continued on, hitting Chikorita with peck knocking it back. Chico, you okay? He looked to his Pokemon who quickly jumped back up ready for more.

[GangstaKage]

"C'mon Cyndaquil!" Jimmy and Cyndaquil ran forward into the grass following suite. They soon came across a Poocheyana. When the puppy pokemon noticed them it quickly got into a defensive stance. "Okay Cyndaquil, let's go! Use uhhh....." Jimmy realised he didn't know what move cyndaquil might know. He knew she was a fire-type so he thought of something. "Cyndaquil Fire Blast please?" Jimmy asked kindly. Cyndaquil turned around and looked at him like he was some sort of idiot. Jimmy didn't know what was wrong. That was a fire move. He sighed when he realised Cyndaquil probably didn't know that. That was one of the only moves he remembered from being by his father. Sleeping in class obviously wasn't a good thing. Jimmy never thought he would end up regretting it.

It was Cyndaquil's turn to sigh. She obviously had her hands full. Normally, the trainer was supposed to lead the pokemon but it seemed now it was the otherway around. Cyndaquil gained a determined look as she stared towards Pocheyena. The firey quills on her back lit up as she opened her mouth. Cyndaquil expelled a haze of black smoke that shrouded the battlefield blocking the two pokemon and Jimmy from sight. It was smoke screen!

[X-Drake]

Silver was sleeping in a patch of tall grass, when he heard all the commotion. All his pokemon was around him keeping him safe, except for Pikachu and lavitar. For the reasons pikachu did not know him enough and might run away and lavitar is still weak and would find it hard to battle here.

Silver got up and looked there was a smoke screen. "hey look Croconaw, there's a totodile" he said and Croconaw made a affirming noise. Croconaw was a type of pokemon who had pride and loves its type and wanted to help out the totodile.

Croconaw went to move to fight the ratatata "No Croconaw, how will that totodile ever get strong, it has its trainer...Just calm down." he said as he saw a Chikorita.

'hmm there might be a Cyndaquil in that smoke screen, lucky Quilava isn't like Croconaw' he thought to him self

"What else do you know Totodile?" Audrey said as she tried to think. From school, she remembered all the traditional starters mostly had Scratch or Tackle. "You sort of have claws, how about a Scratch attack?" Totodile lept at the Rattata, its fingers reaching for it. The little blue hands struck Rattata's left side.

After the attack was done, Rattata turned and lashed at Totodile with its tail. A Tail Whip attack! This would lower Totodile's defenses!

Professor Maple picked up the camera and took the picture. "Alright, do you know what color PokeBoy you would like? You can always customize it later." The camera was still hooked to the computer from the last time.

"Awesome! I want... Um... Saphire Blue if possible?" said Tim happily.

Ricky was determined to get this Pokemon. Chico, use growl and then hit it with a tackle! Chikorita let out a rumbling sound that staggered the HootHoot. Then he ran forward aiming to tackle the HootHoot, but before Chikorita got close the HootHoot hopped up into the air, and ran away. Aw man, it ran away. He looked overly sad, and Chikorita just jumped up and down angrily mad at not having a battle. Then out of the blue Chikorita was scooting across the ground and where Chikorita had stood was an angry Shinx. HEY!!! A Shinx! He jumped up and down.

Looking over to his Chikorita who stood a bit shaky. Chico, hit it with a razor leaf followed by tackle. The Chikorita sent a wave of leaves heading for the Shinx that quickly made contact, and as he followed up with tackle his head was met by Shinx with an equal tackle.

[X-Drake]

"hmm" he said as he walked over to the trainer who owned Chikorita. Just before he pulled all his pokemon in there balls. It seemed like no one saw them.
"seems like you need a little help there, i'm silver...A new trainer as well" he said as pikachu came out.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Chikorita jumped back at the same time as the Shinx. Chico use growl then razor leaf. He looked over to Silver as Chikorita let out a strong growl that would cause the attacks of the Shinx to be weaker. No thank you, I can handle it, I want my first catch to be on my own. As he said this the Shinx was running forward for a tackle as Chikorita swung his head sending another wave of leaves heading for Shinx.

Despite the damage the Shinx continued running forward aiming to tackle Chikorita. Chico dodge! Chikorta tried to jump to the side, but not fast enough the tackle grazed his side, knocking him back. One more and we can catch 'em!

[X-Drake]

"I wasn't offering help. I was just pointing out the fact that you need help." he said laughing as if he was mocking him.

He then turned and looked at pikachu.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ah well that isn't very nice is it? He smirked at Silver as he gave the final command to his Chikorita. Chico use a tackle then we will catch it! Chikorita ran forward hitting the Shinx with a tackle, though before it could rebound he grabbed a Pokeball and pressed the button so it grew to its full size, as he threw it at the Shinx, the red light took the Shinx in and the ball began to rock. Come on!

Jimmy was lost. He couldn't see through the haze of the smoke although he was sure Poocheyena and Cyndaquil were battling it out fiercly.....,and indeed they were. Cyndaquil was curled up in the grass rubbing her nose along the ground. She was counting. Poocheyana was relentlessly chasing his tail as if it's tail was the enemy not the Cyndaquil. They both would rather be doing something else right now. Jimmy was just lost in the smoke. He drew a pokeball, pressing the button in the center and throwing it in the general direction he thought the Poocheyena was in. It went the opposite way.

As the smoke began to clear he saw to shapes moving. He seemed to still think they were battling because of all the movement coming from the Poocheyena. "Go pokeball!" Jimmy tossed the pokeball. It bounced off Poocheyana's head and rolled along the ground. Seeing the ball Poocheyena thought, FETCH! It bolted after the ball running full speed with it's toung hanging out of it's mouth. It picked up the pokeball in it's mouth an ran back towards Jimmy. As it was running the red beam shot forth from the pokeball covering the shape of the poocheyena and drawing it into the small red and white orb. The pokeball rocked back and forth. Jimmy crossed his fingers. Cyndaquil raised it's head and tilted it to the side in an amused look.

[Nyanki]

Audrey clenched two fists as she was getting excited. "Come on, Totodile, hand in there! Get in another Scratch attack, and I'll go for the catch!"

Totodile nodded, then jumped at the purple rodent, he fingers tearing at it. The Rattata seemed like it was getting pretty weak as it went after Totodile with a Tackle. However, the lowered defenses made the attack do more to Totodile than usual.

"I'll get you now!" Audrey pulled a PokeBall out of her backpack and hurled it at the Rattata. The ball opened up and absorbed the little critter inside of it, then landed on the ground. "Come on, this catch is as good as done! I'm going to have my first captured Pokemon!" The ball made its first rock as Audrey clenched her hands even tighter.

"Awesome! I want... Um... Saphire Blue if possible?" said Tim happily."Sure thing." The professor pulled one of that color right out of the drawer. "You can customize it at any place with a PC. You can even get special designs for it at PokeMarts, especially the one in Celadon." She put a cartridge in the back of the PokeBoy, then turned it on. After hitting a few buttons and holding it for a minute, all of Tim's data was transferred to the device.

Professor Maple popped out the cartridge and handed it to Tim. "Here you are." She reached into the drawer she had left open from earlier, pulling out five red PokeBalls in her hands. "And these are for you, too."

[X-Drake]

Silver kept quite as it seemed all three had thrown a ball.

"hmm maybe they will become strong, just like rivals as we all are setting out on this day on this route" he thought to himself

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky watched the Pokeball, it had rocked once and stopped for a moment. He could see the Shinx on the inside struggling to get out. It didn't want to be captured, Ricky stared at the Pokeball a gleam in his eyes. Come on, don't get out, I gotta catch him. The ball started its second rock. Could they catch the Pokemon?! Even Chikorita was staring with a glare.

The poocheyena frowned from inside the pokeball. Things seemed so small, not like he was used to and what happened to that ball he was catching for Jimmy? He was starting to get a bit aggrivated but then Poochyena noticed his tail. Arg that tail.....it had eluded him time and time again. But not this time.....oh no! Poochyena was determined to catch that tail. So the puppy pokemon started to chase his tail furiously. The pokeball seemed to rock even more now. It was on it's second rock. Once more and the catch would be finished.

"Sure thing." The professor pulled one of that color right out of the drawer. "You can customize it at any place with a PC. Silver was looking at all of them...There pokeballs were rocking...Rivals were being set in the motion..He wanted them to catch them, to see if they were worthy of being companions or followers.

Professor Maple smiled. "Now that you've said it, go for it. Don't waste time around here!" This was one more trainer out on the road with her assistance. It made her happy that she could help.

Tim gathered up everything and bolted for the door before the door closed behind him he stuck his head out. "THANKS MAPLE, YOUR AWESOME!" he then left.

Tim was standing at the gates of Pallet Town and saw a long road ahead of him, literally and metaphorically. "Alright," he said to himself. "Let's get going."

MUSIC: BORN TO BE A MASTER, BORN TO BE A CHAMPION, BORN TO BE A WINNER, POKE'MON!!! :lol:

Ricky watched as the Pokeball had finished the third rock. It looked as if the Shinx on the inside had given up. He stood looking at the ball for a moment. It stayed completely still. It didn't seem to be coming back open. He stepped toward the Pokeball and picked it up. I caught my first Pokemon!!!! He held the ball up in the air and spun around.

Chikorita jumped up and down. He held the Pokeball, he waited to see if the others would get their Pokemon. This was the perfect moment.

Tim walked outside of the gates. Amd began his trek threw the high grass. He saw a person happily jumping around. He saw at his feet was a Chikorita. Tim squinted and and dropped on the ground he slowly crawled in the deep grass. A Ratata came nose to nose with Tim and it started licking him on the nose. "Uh hah hah hah, stop it... stop it... Hah hah... DAMMIT don't make me catch you!" Tim yelled as quietly as possible. The Ratata smiled and ran off. Suddenly when he was close enough to the Trainer he jumped up from the base of the grass. "YOU!" yelled Tim in the Trainer direction.

[X-Drake]

Silver looked back and saw Tim shouting. He then shock his head in disappointment. "Hey you...Loud mouth...Don't you know the little dogs bark the loudest and are the weakest...Don't be hot headed and wait...Before he fails in catching the pokemon" he said with a plain look before looking at the pokeballs again.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky turned to face Tim. Um, can I help you? Ricky just kinda stared at Tim like he was an idiot or something, coming out of the grass and shouting at him. He held his Shinx's Pokeball, the Shinx could be seen through the Pokeball, it had curled up and taken was napping.

He placed the Pokeball on a clip around his waist. The rest of the Pokeballs in his backpack.

"erm don't mind him.." he said to Ricky not caring for a reply from tim.
"Hey I'm silver, a rookie trainer. Whats your name?" he said kinda wanting to battle.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky turned to Silver. I'm Ricky, I just caught my first Pokemon. He smiled a big smile at the thought of catching his own Pokemon. Chikorita rubbed against Ricky's leg. He bent down picking him up, and placing him on his shoulder. The small green leaf on his head wiggled in the wind, rubbing Ricky's cheek he laughed. Chico, that tickles.

[X-Drake]

Silver being the sarcastic guy looked at Ricky with a plain face and said "errm I Kinda see that" while scratching his hair

"well, wanna battle...I never used pikachu yet" he said with conviction

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky wanted to battle, but he needed to heal his Pokemon, both were tired from one being captured and Chikorita had just battled. If you have two potions so I can heal my Pokemon real quick, they are both worn out. He wasn't trying to sound like he was being a mooch or anything but he wasn't going to risk his Pokemon.

Chikorita curled up and laid on Ricky's shoulder. Despite him being laying down, he kept his eyes fixed on the grass, looking for more opponents to battle.

"Okay I shall wait!" he said sitting down.

Pikachu was circling him.

"hey pikachu..Lets see what moves you know" he said as pikachu replied

"Pika pika" as it smiled.

Despite not having badges, silver had control over pikachu. He was hoping no one would notice this.

Ricky frowned, I take it that means you don't have any potions, really one would do as I can split it between my Pokemon. He really wanted to battle a Pikachu that would be pretty neat. Especially cause he could use his newly caught Shinx and see what all attacks it knew.

[X-Drake]

Silver didn't hear him the first time but heard him this time.

"oh potions...Yh I got a few" he said as he tossed him one

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky sprayed the potion over Chickorita, healing his wounds, emptying about half of the potion. Then he looked to his waist taking the Pokeball off of his waist. He crouched down, his knees touching the grass, as he let the Shinx out of her Pokeball. Hold still. He spoke in a soothing voice like he had taken care of Pokemon before. He sprayed it over the Shinx using up the rest of the potion. I think I'm going to call you, Spark.

Okay, now we can battle. A big smile spread across his face.

[X-Drake]

"hmmm...Two against one...Do your best...Go Pikachu " he said as pikachu appeared facing the pokemon it was holding its ground. It nature appeared to be brave.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Spark, you go first. Shinx padded forward, glaring at the Pikachu, pretty intimidating. It seemed to have the ability of intimidate, that could be useful. Her tail swished back and forth, the small star almost like a metronome. Okay, here I come. He stood up and smirked.

Spark use tackle! Spark ran forward, aiming to slam into the Pikachu, tackling it to the ground.

[X-Drake]

"Pikachu, your in charge for the meanwhile.." he said as pikachu noded it then ran to meet the shinx head on as it used growl and jumped over it and headed to the Chickorita.

Shinx stepped back the growl shocking it a bit, but Chikorita hadn't been effected, as the Pikachu came towards him Ricky gave the command. Chiko, use razor leaf, Spark, roll to the left and use charge! Chikorita nodded, twirling his head sending a wave of razor like leaves towards the Pikachu.

Shinz rolled to the left and began to glow charging electricty.

Pikachu side jumped moving away from the leaves as Silver got bored. He lifted his jacket showing two pokeballs one was pikachu's. He grabbed the over...he then threw it...."Monferno go...flame wheel" he smiled after..

The flames burnt the leaves.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky was at an obvious disadvantage. As the spinning wheel of flame came towards the two Ricky quickly took up the command. Spark, use your spark attack, towards Monferno!! Chico, use razor leaf at Pikachu! Ricky didn't have much confidence that he would win this battle, but he could try.

[X-Drake]

Pikachu used Thundershock at the spark while Monferno ran to chikarita and used Close combat without Silver saying so

"jheeze, don't kill them" he said silently

[Kuro Nagashi]

The attacks hit dead on, Ricky had nothing to stop it, Silver was obviously a better trainer than he was. Though the Pokemon didn't faint he quickly called them back with a brief command. Chico, Spark, come back. He pulled out Spark's pokeball, the red beam drawing the Pokemon back into the pokeball, while Chikorita jumped up onto Ricky's shoulder and just looked down at the grass.

[X-Drake]

"sorry bout that...thats a wild one...I'm a rookie trainer, with no badges so the only control I got is our friendship...I'm a aiding scientist" silver said.

The PokeBall stopped rocking after the third time. Audrey stood there a few moments, staring at it. It was just too good to be true. After the excitement built up and exploded, she ran forward and snatched up the PokeBall in her hand. Audrey held it up to the sky. "I caught mine, too!" she shouted.

Totodile cheered, jumping up and down and waving its little arms.

Just as the pokeball was about to turn on it's final rock, there was a burst of red light, and Poocheyena escaped. Cyndaquil frowned and layed back in the grass. Jimmy stood looking defeated. The oblivious Poocheyena just chased it's tail contentedly. Jimmy glanced at his two friends watching them catch there respective pokemon. Ricky even got into a fight. Seeing his friends gave him motivation. No way was he gonna loose to them! Jimmy turned towards the dog pokemon with new found vigor. He picked out another pokeball from his backpack and decided to start again. He got into a baseball pitcher's position. Picking up his leg and drawing his arm back. "SUPER ULTIMATE JIMMY POKEBALL ATTACK!" he screamed like the dork he was tossing the ball towards Poocheyena. The pokemon who was absorbed with his tail was taken into the pokeball by the red beam once again. Jimmy crossed his fingers and Cyndaquil glanced up in anticipation.

Audrey walked over the nearest sounds she heard, finding Jimmy. She saw that he had a Pokemon in a PokeBall and was just awaiting the results. "C'mon Jimmy, you got this!" After all catching their first Pokemon, they could head on to Viridian for a nice break.
