This sounds stupid but isn't anyone gonna talk about Itachi here, I was really pleased to see him again.

I don't know why they stood there and chiyo shouted all the tactics for dispelling his genjutsu.

I think Itachi's goal was to keep them away from that cave rather than beating them up. Because he stood in their way instead of attacking didn't they.

With all the apparent cleverness Kakashi has, it's a surprise that no one saw Zetsu spotted them going past or sensed his chakra for that matter.
