Shadow binding jutsu can't go through kaiten cause Shikamaru needs to send his chakra in to the shadows to control it.Since its chakra based it takes solid material form and can't go through kaiten.For example remember when they first time meet sai Shikamaru send his shadows into air and they penetrated Sai drawings like spears so that prove that shadow is solid ))).

As I said before. I only see one attack able to penetrate the Kaiten. That is the Rasengan. MY OPINION...

I got it now.
This is how the shadow gets through Kaiten.
No matter where they are, there is a hole leading to another hole.(in a field, gopher holes, in the woods, dead trees to dead trees).
If he can get it under ground or away from Neji's senses which is actually possible now because of the multiple shadow's.
He could use the shadow possession, get close to Neji, make him think it's the possession, use the shadow slicing attack, capture Neji, use shadow possession and game set match.
But that's one little scenario...

I want to say Shikmaru would come up with a way to beat Neji, but I'm not so sure, I think his only chance would be to find the Byakugans blind spot, which don't get me wrong, he's easily smart enough to do. But I also don't think Neji would just let him sit there and try 2 find it though. That and the fact that Shikamaru's shadow bind wouldn't work against the kaiten, I say Neji wins

Neji has strength and speed. Shik has brains over pretty much every1, but his style of fighting get's destroyed by Neji, we've seen Shik beat many powerful opponents b4 (Hidan). But Neji's fighting style has every advantage over Shik's, so Neji wins.

Off topic, but this came 2 me, wouldn't Naruto be scary powerful if he had his strength and Shik's brains.

True,Neji is smart but Shikamaru is smarter.But still its not enough to have high IQ to defeat Neji.Since we concluded that shadows won't work on Neji since they are chakra based attacks and neji can nullify them with Jyuuken.So Neji can come close to Shikamaru and now its your guess guys who is strongest in taijutsu:
NEJI or SHIKAMARU
we all know the answer.
