View Full Version : Death
What is death? And more importantly, what is it to you as an individual? Is it something that you push to the back of your mind? Is it like a black hole, with nothing behind it? Is it something to be afraid of? Why or why not? No one can escape death. We are all part of the ultimate statistic: Ten out of ten die. You can find reports of it in the newspaper, on the radio, on the internet and on TV. You probably know someone in your family that has died.
What is something told you that you were going to die sometime in the next five years? That would be rather scary, wouldn’t it? Who knows? You might die sometime in the next five years. Maybe the next five months. Maybe the next five days, hours or minutes. Or even seconds. “Well,” you might say, “I’m not intending on dying anytime soon. I’m in no hurry.” The people that have said that have died anyway. You’re no different than anyone else, and everyone is going to die someday.
2008 will soon be a long time ago. Everyone born before and in 2008 will have died. Including you. It’s something everyone knows, but some people try to ignore it. And why is that? Are they afraid of the afterlife?
This is a sober topic. Here are a few things for you to think about.
Are you ready for death? Are you afraid of death, and if you are, why? How would you accept it if someone told you that you were going to die very soon?
If you don’t feel comfortable with this topic, then you are not obligated to respond. In fact, I don’t expect many responses. But feel free to share your feelings about this topic.

Is it something that you push to the back of your mind?
Yep
Is it something to be afraid of?
Nope
Why or why not?
Can't stop it so why bother trying and as the old saying goes "in the end all you can do is smile and wave"
What is something told you that you were going to die sometime in the next five years?
I'd do all the stupid things I wouldn't normally do
2008 will soon be a long time ago. Everyone born before and in 2008 will have died. Including you. It’s something everyone knows, but some people try to ignore it. And why is that? Are they afraid of the afterlife?
Ignore it cos there is no point worrying over what can't be changed (Yet!!!)
Are you ready for death?
Yes
Are you afraid of death, and if you are, why?
No cos there is nothing to be afraid of
How would you accept it if someone told you that you were going to die very soon?
Depends who they are and how well I know them

When death will come, I'll be ready to embrace it in peace...
Yeah, right. That's what I'd like to think.
If given enough time to realize I'm about to die (eg. terminal illness), I'd probably panic in an undignified way. I'd react badly, completely out of control. I'd break things, hurt myself, yell and all that, I'm quite sure of it.

Soon? What do you mean soon? We're quite young all of us! You meant we'll have to accept it.. eventually! But soon? No way!

Dieing is just another part of life that everyone meets. Just like you said. It's cycle that keeps the world going, depressing, but natural.

I'm a bit afraid of death. I have so much I wanna do with my life that it'd be terrible if I died early. I suppose I am afraid of death (considering my fear of car accidents).
