Dynasty Warriors (真・三國無双, Shin Sangokumusō?, lit. "True - Unrivaled Three Kingdoms") is a series of tactical action video games created by Koei. The award-winning series is a spin-off of Koei's turn-based strategy Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, based loosely around the Chinese epic of the same name. The first game titled Dynasty Warriors, Sangokumusō in Japan, is a fighting game and not a true part of the series. All English titles are a number ahead of their Japanese counterparts due to the English localization of naming Shin Sangokumusō, a spin-off of the previously mentioned Sangokumusō game, as Dynasty Warriors 2.

As of November 18, 1997, the Dynasty Warriors series has sold more than 9 million units worldwide.

The series is often criticized for its repetitive gameplay, yet sale count is always extremely high among most games in the series.[citation needed] At one time these games were the highest selling series in Japan.


Samurai Warriors
n the basic gameplay of Samurai Warriors, the player takes the role of a single officer in battle and must fend off hordes of enemy soldiers and defeat the enemy commander. The player has at their disposal a range of combo attacks and crowd-clearing special moves known as Musou attacks. The variety of attacks available increase as the character increases in level and gains new weapons.

Musou attacks can only be performed when the character's Musou gauge has filled up, which does so gradually when the player inflicts or receives damage. Additionally, if the player is low on health or possess a special skill, they can use their special True Musou attack which causes elemental damage in addition to normal damage as well as adds on a trio of attacks that cleans up the final few enemies in the vicinity. One difference between Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors is the ability to perform free-style combo attacks during Musou attack mode, during which the game enters bullet-time; common soldiers move very slowly, however officers are unaffected. Other abilities that Samurai characters have over the Dynasty series include the ability to perform a roll to dodge attacks, and deflect incoming arrows with their weapon.

Orochi is cool he almost looks like a blue skinned version of Oro ^_^.... i beat him so easily the first time....all you have to do is just get your character to 99 before you fight him and it'll be a peice of cake!!!

Thats also true but dont overlook that LuBu & Zhao Yun met up during the hu lao gate battle and He was saved after being beaten by lubu by the 3 brothers

EDIT:

I went out, and only had enough for SW2:XL (Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends) and if you have SW2, and want something to spice up the same old stuff. GET THIS!!

The 6 new characters are REALLY good, I've only used Kojiro, and Toshiie, and they kick ARSE. The only draw back is Shibata and Kojiro aren't bodygaurds HOWEVER, they have replaced them with bodygaurds who are just as aggressive, and have the same weapons.

Also they have added a 5th weapon for all the characters!

They also have a new mode: Mercenary Mode
You choose an officer, and you get to choose what battles you want to go in out of a selected few (Sadly, you can't choose what side, so if it's like Takeda VS Oda, you are on the Takeda) and you get a reward based on how well you do, and you can buy generals to accompany you into battle. To me this is really fun, imagine, Musashi, Tadakatsu, and Keiji on the same team.

They have changed the MAX LVL from 50 to 70.

they did something I thought was really really cool, instead of searching FAQs on the 4/5th weapons, you can go to the vault, and look under the last one, and it will tell you a brief example of what you should do to get the weapon.

To me, if you love SW, and have SW2, please buy it!

I really dislike DW6.. They kinda killed the whole game.. why not just improve the graphics, keep the weapons, leave the levels how they are in DW6, and all that, but just change the characters looks slightly.. Nope completely change them..
some of the weapons are OK, Zhang Fei's is pure awesome, but Guan Ping OMG no big sword..

I still haven't played it yet, if I play it I'll let you guys know my opinion.

That's right, Fu Xi, Nu Wa, and the SW2XL characters are finally added in this game!

Other than that, there will be also new stages: maps from SW2XL, as well as maps made exclusively for MO:RDL such as Itsukushima. There will be also new modes such as Dramatic Mode, Survival Mode and Versus Mode. New gameplay systems are also added, and many more!

The left one is Taigong Wang, a Chinese semi-myth figure who was also known as Jiang Ziya. His weapon is a fishing rod. Oh and he is Tai in the PS2 and GameCube game Mystic Heroes! :D

And the one in the right is Taira no Kiyomori, a general in the Heian Period. His weapon is a big rosary.

Finally what weve been waiting for there will be finally be real costume changes, not just color swaps. For example, Zhuge Liang will be able to wear his DW4 costume, and Gracia will have an all-new goth look-a-like costume!!

I finally played that things i like about the game

Favourite new character Yoshimoto Imagawa

Dont judge me yet, My brother told me to play as him cause he thought he really sucked and said if i get through a hard stage he would pay me.

So i took up the offer and i was about to die when i used one of his abilites i never looked at the book, And it was his play dead ability and i survived and finish the stage.

So that why sorry thought i would put my thought on the game:)

I am playing as his lvl 15 Fu Xi and he's playing as his lvl 17 Minamoto no Yoshitsune.

you may not know this but the game is based on a story written in ancient china.

It has 120 chapters and is a very long story

I was in charge of chapter 17 it was actually an interesting story. I thought you might be interested.
