Ah, the very informative 369. Personally, this is one of the better chapters, it shows what a beast Pein really is, and how cool Hounzo (spelt wrong?) was. Taking the Three Sannin at ONCE! I believe this stops all "Jiraiya > Pein" theories until we see some more from the old man, eh?

Oboro Kagari and Mubi, the three Rain Genin that were Naruto and co.'s last battle in the Forest of Death. You remember, the guys with the mono tone masks, and created the mist servants?

I wonder if they were inspiered since they seemed to use the same headgear whereas the other three (the one's Gaara killed) did not wear such headgear.

That is rumor... Plus he isn't mentioned in the Arc when they visit the Orochimaru lair. That was probably a distraction put in by Masashi to trip people up. I for one am not falling for it.

Come on dude, you are too smart not to get what I am saying. That was a deter put in to possibly trip people up. YES the fuuma clan is real but I seriously doubt that Pain is a member of that clan. Maybe he is but I doubt it. That guy was only going off of rumors he heard. That is why I said it was a rumor...

I think pretty much all the Naruto episodes are relevant and can possibly be used at later episodes. I personally think fillers are a good thing. You can always reach into those and pull out stuff that could be useful later on. I hope he continues to do that but on a grander scale. But yeah this (I feel) was just a deter. I could be wrong though.

It seems we more or less agree on a lot of points. I wonder what would happen if we both were to strongly disagree on something.

I do believe the fillers were created so that way the Manga could advance and the anime would stay behind, or at least rumor said so.

Actually what Kakuzu just said is correct. By the time the Sasuke Retrieval arc ended, the anime was really close to the manga. If they had kept going with canon, then they would've surpasses the manga and we all know how badly that would've turned out.

That's probably why they're dragging out Shippuuden. I assume they lost a lot of viewers during the fillers and they don't want that to happen again.

Yeah, after Sasuke's Arc, it basically ended, then they made some more fillers, none related to the plot, then they began Shippuden.

I severely disagree about Pein. I do profoundly agree with Hanzou though. Was he the Kage of the hidden Mist village? If he was strong enough to beat down and NAME the sannin then he is definitely a force to be recogned with. If Pein took him down then that was no easy feat. However, I WILL agree with you if Pein took him down with an ability that Hidan had. That is the cheesiest way to win battles (I feel) in the whole series of Naruto. You can not hurt the guy but he takes your blood and injures himself to get to you?!!! What the hell...

I want to see some jutsu that knocks my socks off and some taijutsu that makes my toes curl. Those pods... I think the NEXT chapter will determine my like or dislike for Pein. Right now I think he is cool.

A bad guy as an underdog doesn't make for a good story at all. It would make him out to be a hero. The big force is usually made out to be evil and the good guy usually has to fight impossible odds to overcome it. Unless your Superman it will probably always be that way.

That is why I am not that into Naruto Manga as I usually was.

Naruto is, by some odds, defeat someone who defeated the Rain Village and their Kage leader (say, somewhat near or above Sarutobi in his Prime) by himself. It's blasphamey.

Well I would venture to say a bad guy under the radar who doesn't really have an agenda would be more appealing. They made Pein to seem like a God and that is Sacrilegious in itself.

But come on, you got to be curious to see how he fights. We didn't see Hanzou fight but you know he was bad enough to beat the 3 Sannin. Could Sarutobi do that in his prime? We will never know, however I would think the sensei of the Sannin and the 3rd Hokage (prime mind you) could break down the Sannin. It is sad we will never know for sure.

Prime Sarutobi, Sakumo Hatake, Hanzou, Pein, Kakuzu, and God are the only people who can own the Sannin. :p

What? Kakuzu? Please you have to humor me. Also Sakumo? We know he was great and that he was almost ranked amoung the Sannin but dude, we know nothing of their abilities. I would be almost willing to believe Sakumo though so no need to beat that horse, however explain Kukazu? I admit the fight was stupid but we never really got to see him REALLY unload but if you know elements of that fight that I don't know please educate. I just wouldn't put him in that bracket.
