Ah, you have interesting in books L, my friend, but I suggest that you expand your horizons to a wider degree. Your best bet would be to read something that would expand your mind, instead of this pulp.
cat_eared_L
09-13-2007, 04:03 AM
I didn't know Dostoevsky and Shakespeare was considered pulp already.
Uchiha Obito
09-13-2007, 04:08 AM
O.O.... I like manga.... lol
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 04:08 AM
Ok, perhaps pulp was a tad harsh, my friend, but I believe that you need to read more. Your list is just not up to the right standard. If you need any good book recommendations, please feel free to ask, and I shall immediatedly come to your aid, I promise.

????????????
cat_eared_L
09-13-2007, 04:11 AM
What would you recommend that is at a higher level than those books? Books about mathematics? Science? What? I assure you, I've read plenty of books on most subjects... I don't think I need your recommendations. Prick.
Uchiha Obito
09-13-2007, 04:14 AM
..... wow. xD
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 04:15 AM
You have deemed me to be a reproductive organ? This is an insult to my very character. I tried my very best to help you, dear, L, and you instead shun me! I am offended, greatly. I did not mean to say that your books were bad or inadequate choices; instead, I only wished to help you learn to read more. Dostoevsky is truly a grandoise writer whose prose is endearing to the eyes, but it matters not when you read so few books. You must be stronger; read more and more, L! Learn as much as you can; Become great!
cat_eared_L
09-13-2007, 04:18 AM
....you've never read Dostoevsky have you?
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 04:21 AM
But of course I have read Dostoevsky! His great writing, with its many ambiguous moral representations astounded me with their depth. Please, before you judge me, my friend, consider the possibility that I am extremely well read, which I am.
cat_eared_L
09-13-2007, 04:25 AM
Well, then I ask you to kindly return the favor and please consider the possibility that I too, am extremely well read.
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 04:28 AM
Certainly, L, you are quite well read, but not to my level just yet. I seek only to spread the knowledge that I have been gifted with. It is your choice to accept it, my dear friend.
cat_eared_L
09-13-2007, 04:31 AM
Oh, I'm afraid you misunderstand. By consider the possibility that I am well read, I meant please consider the possibility that I am more well read than you. But it's really of no concern to me. Think of me what you will. heh.
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 04:34 AM
Ah, how arrogant of you, L. I have clearly demonstrated that I am more well read than you are, but I have expressed it in an infinitely more mature fashion that you just have. If you wish to be my friend, please, put me on your level. I am being fair enough to you, am I not?
RasenganWarrior
09-13-2007, 05:00 AM
How about we assume that you are both very well read.
That way we can stop the competition and consider talking about actual literature.
My favorite comment easily though.
O.O.... I like manga.... lol

Out of curiosity, my friends, I must ask one question? What is manga? Isn't it a comicbook based on cartoons?
RasenganWarrior
09-13-2007, 05:09 AM
This is true, but it can also be equaly fun to have a civilized debate.....
Aw... Who am I kidding i like a good rumble....
This is my reply (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TaPg5-KSFY)
Out of curiosity, my friends, I must ask one question? What is manga? Isn't it a comicbook based on cartoons?
No. Not necesarily, but it is similar.
Manga is a japanese style of comicbook that is generaly black and white. Naruto for instance, was originaly a manga that has been adapted into anime and translated into english and other languages. The point being generaly it is the other way around.
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 05:27 AM
Ah, so it is adapted from a cartoon, I see.
Uchiha Obito
09-13-2007, 05:28 AM
No, usually it starts out as a manga.. than if it's popular enough it eventually becomes an anime (japanese cartoon, just incase you didn't know what anime means).
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 05:30 AM
Ah, I see, so the cartoons come from the comicbooks. Thank you very much for clarifying this, my dear friend.
Uchiha Obito
09-13-2007, 05:33 AM
yuppers... I mean, uh-- No problem my dear friend. :)
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 05:35 AM
Ah, thank you, so you appreciate cartoons like Naruto as well, I see. Truly one of the best creations to have come out of America.
Uchiha Obito
09-13-2007, 05:35 AM
er.. Japan. lol
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 05:37 AM
Please, do not try try to correct me with false information, I find it rather insulting. Please, do not let your obsession with Japan overshadow the fact that Naruto is American.
cat_eared_L
09-13-2007, 05:39 AM
アニメは日本からきました。
Uchiha Obito
09-13-2007, 05:40 AM
no dude, lol, I'm not trying to insult you. lol
I'm just saying that I thought that naruto the manga/anime came from japan. That's all. But please, explain, why do you say that naruto is American?
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 05:41 AM
Because it is in English, and it is a cartoon.
Uchiha Obito
09-13-2007, 05:43 AM
uhh.. no, they dub it over with English voices so that people in America can enjoy it to. It originally came from japan.
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 05:43 AM
Actually, it was likely dubbed into Japanese, while it was English in the original. And, once again, it is American.
Uchiha Obito
09-13-2007, 05:44 AM
lol, no, I'm pretty sure you're wrong. But, I'm not trying to make enemies here. Please explain why you think that.
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 05:47 AM
But I am not wrong. It is an American cartoon, this is an undeniable fact. You must accept this as reality.
Uchiha Obito
09-13-2007, 05:49 AM
No. It's not. If you have no proof to back it up, than uh... why should I do such a thing? Besides, everyone knows, anime generally comes from Japan.... If you continue to tell me I'm wrong about something I pride myself to be very knowledgeable in, than I will....... get pissed... xD
besides, this is getting very off-topic, why doesn't someone else say there favorite books?
EDIT:
read up dude... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naruto

Then, dear sir why didn't you reply with a post about your favorite books?
Additionally, we all understand that wikipedia is unreliable, often holding faulty information. I will not allow you to put a pro japanese slant on something that I am proud of my country creating. Naruto is a cartoon from America, you can deny this all you want, but it will be no use.

I am sorry to admit this but for once Uchiha Obito (aka Cameron is correct)
Naruto Is originaly produced in Japan by Tokyo TV it has be subtitled by fans and is currently on its 247th episode
Cartoon network has purchased the rights to it and is releasing the series with an english dubbing. But its origins are japanese as is the entire series along with its four movies and other releases that have gone directly to home video DVDs and video cassets
Please look into this before you acuse someone else of being wrong.
I'm sorry to contradict you but if you are mistaken.
Longcat51
09-13-2007, 07:20 AM
It is disheartening to see that you still grasp onto this irrational belief that Naruto is Japanese. It is an American cartoon, and that is a fact. Do not let your obsessive love for Japan cloud your judgement. Certainly, I have my obsessions, too, but I do not let it interfere with the facts that I utilize in conversations.
RasenganWarrior
09-13-2007, 07:31 AM
You are correct in only one thing
Naruto is released in America
everything else not so much how about i show you episodes of naruto that have never been shown in english.
will that convince you
you have no proof for your claim so allow me to give you some to mine
this is episode 220 the last episode before the 2.5 year time skip to shippuden

Everybody can make a mistake, the forum mods included. It is your own choice to remain blissfully ignorant of a reality. It already exists in English and was dubbed into japanese; albeit, fairly quickly. Please, don't turn American cartoon treasures into Japanese heirlooms.
