He isn't the antagonist.
Protagonist refers to the main character, antagonist refers to the character who opposes the main character's goals.

One of the few hyped up series I liked.
The constant struggle between Kira and L plus the corruption if Light's morals through power is one hell of a journey.

Yes, Light is the protagonist, and L is the antagonist.
Is L a bad guy?
No.
One would see Light as the bad guy maybe...but it all depends on the person's views.
One could see L as the bad cause he's trying to stop Light.

So the antagonist is not necessarily always the "bad guy."

but realli, i think Light's world was a much better place to live. except, i did worry his plans when they started talking about the people in his world would only be living out of fear of being killed by Kira. thats worrisome (sp?)...

i don't think so.
i definitely would not look up names of criminals and write their names in the book and try to create a new world. but if i did, i would have NOT made all those stupid mistakes Light did!!
i think he had a pretty good basic idea. getting rid of all the bad people in the world. so all the stuff normal people worry about everyday like stalkers or murderers wouldn't exist. but again, the people in such a world would only be behaving out of fear of being killed by Kira. not because they are actually all good people.
the biggest mistake Light made was believing he could create a new world without completely wiping out society and starting from scratch and putting it in his peoples heads that peace is the only way to go. thats realli the only thing u can do if u wanna get rid of all the filth in the world.

it's at Borders and Barnes & Noble.
they even have copies at Borders Express.
i read a little bit of it. seems very interesting. :)
