In the ''Witch's Tea Party'' of the first game, it's hinted that Miyo Takano and Rika Furude were the gamepieces of a game between the Witches Lambdadelta and Bernkastel.

Lambdadelta resembles Takano.
She looks like the younger version of Takano, and her name means ''34'' when using Greek numberals, while Miyo is spelled with the Kanji used for ''3'' and ''4''. She can kill anyone without fail, as absolute result.

Bernkastel resembles Rika.
She looks like Rika, almost identical, just the clothes. She can do the thing that happens in Higurashi; people that keep getting in a new world.

So, according to this, Lambdadelta was the one who caused all the murders in Higurashi to happen, and Bernkastel was the one to keep resurrecting them, and so, Rika won against Takano, and Bernkastel won against Lambdadelta, making Bernkastel the strongest witch, 'cause Lambdadelta was that before.
While Lambdadelta holds a grudge against Bernkastel, she still cares about her.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni Anime News
Some news on the music from the Frontier Works website. Unlike Higurashi, they will be using the original soundtrack from the games in the anime, with new tracks and new arrangements of tracks from the games soundtrack to also be used. They also plan on getting Shikata Akiko, who provided the opening theme "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" for the games to perform the anime's opening.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni Anime will start at the 2nd of July. Look forward to it! Also, Ryukishi07, the orginal writer, has chosen the voice actors.

Mhm, I'm gonna watch the third episode with subs later today, I've already watched the RAW.. the first half. ._.

My favorite characters are:
Higurashi - Shion & Rena
Umineko - Maria (From the Anime so far.)

My actual favorite Umineko characters are Maria, Lambdadelta & Rosa.

I can't wait for the 2nd Episode to start. It surpasses the first one by far.

As for Rosa, yes, she's Maria's mother. It's just that I wouldn't like her at this point because the only thing she does is show her awesome parenting skills.

New Voice actors. This is a bit of a spoiler on characters that have yet to appear in the anime.
Lucifer: Yuka Saitou (This will be her first major role)
Leviathan: Madoka Yonezawa (Ui Hirasawa from K-ON!)
Satan: Youko Hikasa (Mio Akiyama from K-ON!)
Belphegor: Seiko Yoshida (like Lucifer's seiyuu, no real major roles before this)

Some news that isn't about the When They Cry series, but something else written by Ryukishi07.
The game, Ōkamikakushi, written by Ryukishi07(Higurashi, Umineko no Naku Koro ni) with character designs made by Peach-Pit(Rozen Maiden, Shugo Chara!, DearS) was released 2 days ago and has already been green-lit for an anime.
