vB would be good, but the license is expensive.

phpbb forums don't do well

most people prefer VB these days because of the good features

If you were going to have a free forum I would at least suggest you used your own host and installed ipb 1.3 on it. There's lots of places offering free hosting with php/mysql.

If you have no experience with that stuff and would prefer to have someone else hosting your forum, at least use http://www.invisionfree.com/ and not phpBB.

Whys every1 putting down my forum /cry you dont need vB or anything to have a good forum. plus this ones alot better than my last forums. i made everything myself on that site.
