View Full Version : Worlds End?

No one wants it to end.
But it could very well end in 4 years. Things are rapidly increasing. Read posts 247-249.

well, the fact that i dont believe in the bible meaning i dont think the world will "end"
Mattus

You believe in facts don't you?
This all adds up now, weather or not you believe it or not. This will happen. The world will not end.
No. It will start over.
We made so many mistakes...that we must pay for them.
Looking at the tectonic plates, coasts, and volcanoes, not to mention the size of the blast of Yellowstone.
the only surviving areas would be Western China, directly north of that location in Siberia, Western Africa around Niger and Mali, The Mountains of the Amazon and the Cradle of Life.
This is all theory of course...but it's starting to make sense...

... not really...i still think the earth has plenty of more years left to go.. i doubt any of us will ever see the world end IF it does indeed end
Mattus

The world will 100% end, someday, it will end.
That is undeniable.
The world will not end in our lifetime, but it will renew itself.
The world is in desperate need of change, so much change that we cannot change it, so we'll be forced to change.
Global Warming will take it's toll on Western Civilization, solving half the world's problems right there, Global Warming will annihilate Japan, India, Bhutan, Southern Italy, Greece and Albania. Iceland and most of Central America will be destroyed as well. Iceland will literally be torn in half, Southern New Zealand will cease to exist. California will be turned inside out as well as parts of Alaska. Greenland and Western Antarctica will melt, as well as most of the other glaciers, leaving what now is the coasts and 40 miles inland, completely underwater.
Earthquakes will be on the rise which means Tsunami's will be on the rise which means the water will rise even more further inland. In a few years all it takes for Sadie or Mallory to go to the beach is walk outside and take a few steps.
This is much more serious than it's made out to be....and this, along with posts 247 and 249 in this same thread is just in 10 minutes work. I'm sure I can find much much much much much more if I dig deeper.

I don't think it's going to happen. I think December 2012 is going pass by and everyone is only going to try to find a new date to this never ending ideology. For centuries people have been claiming dates for the end of the world, and that the date is the "end of times" but it never happens. Who knew.

It just so happens that one of the worst solar storms will happen in 2012. It will disrupt power grids, communications.. basically everything we rely on to survive. So, coincidence with the dates? I'm not so sure. And a 2000 year old calender, that has so far been correct about events, predicting the end worries me. Random superstition, like the 666 thing, doesn't bother me. I got charged £6.66 but that didn't make the world collapse. Ancient calander events colliding with a major sunstorm is a lot more worrying. For me, anyway.

Exactly, and global warming will take it's toll, eruptions, tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, electricity'll be gone, we'll be sent back to where we were in the 1400's pretty much.
I believe this is a test. We went wrong so we have to start over. Look at my map on the 25th or 26th page.
The circled places are places where Humans Originated from, not only that, but it's some of the only places where you cannot be harmed from Eruptions, Earthquakes, Tsunami's, floods and the Yellowstone Eruption.
If in 2012, at any time the world shows signs of stuff like this. I recommend heading for the closest circled area, that's what I'm gonna do.
KaitouSai100
01-17-2008, 06:02 PM
But...a solar storm wouldn't kill a lot of people (directly), it'd just be a nuisance for a while.
Mattus
01-17-2008, 06:05 PM
Flood, Tsunami's, Earthquakes, Volcano Eruptions, and Hurricanes will.
KaitouSai100
01-17-2008, 06:19 PM
But...there's no proof any of those things will happen. You're just going on a theory.
Mattus
01-17-2008, 06:24 PM
Global Warming isn't a theory.
It's what's happening right now.
We've seen an increase in all of these things minus the Eruptions.
Things can only get worse.
KaitouSai100
01-17-2008, 08:29 PM
But majin, an increase means nothing. It could be how the tectonic plates are shifting at this very time. It's not like some godly force is gonna make them all shift on 2012. Heck, even volcano eruptions wouldn't be all that dangerous to the world. To people near these volcanos, yes. But the only thing to worry about would be ash.
And Global Warming isn't gonna kill us all in one day. That's absolutely irrelevant. Even if it does, it'd be indirectly. And Global warming does have benefits:
- Reports show that the earth is greener since global warming. Shorter winters mean an increase in growth in food. More food? Less hunger.
-
Two American scientists, Thomas Knutson and Robert Tuleya, published an academic paper forecasting an increase in the power of hurricanes (typhoons) because of global warming. Specifically, they used a computer model in which the sea surface temperature was warmed, and they found that nearly 60 percent of the changes in the computer's hurricanes could be attributed to that effect.
The real world is not the world of the computer. In reality, only 10 percent of the behavior of hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean (where there are the best long-term records) is related to sea surface temperatures. When that is factored in, any changes in hurricanes related to global-warming become undetectable over the next century.
Computers only do what they are told, and they don't do what they are not told. One factor that was ignored in this study is global warming is likely to increase winds, several kilometers aloft, that actually destroy hurricanes. In fact, as the planet has warmed, maximum winds measured by hurricane-research aircraft in the Atlantic Basin have declined.
-
How many times have scientists stated publicly that human-induced global warming is destroying the glaciers of Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro? Again, a larger constellation of facts changes the story.
There were two periods of global warming in the last century. The first ended around 1940 and was caused by the sun's warming up. Temperatures then cooled slightly, until the early 1970's, before warming again. Scientists believe this second heating was largely caused by the burning of fossil fuels, rather than a change in the sun.
In the first warming, 45 percent of Kilimanjaro's ice cap disappeared. When the planet subsequently cooled, it lost another 21 percent. In the recent warming, another 12 percent has gone, the slowest rate of loss in the last 100 years. Some 4,000 to 7,000 years ago, the earth was a degree or two warmer than it is today, and yet Kilimanjaro's glaciers were greatly expanded compared to the current era.
-
The doomsayers have predicted that a warmer world would inflict tropical diseases on Americans. They neglect to mention that those diseases--such as malaria, cholera, and yellow fever--were widespread in the United States in the colder 19th century. Their absence today is attributable not to a climate unsuitable to their propagation, but to modern sanitation and the American lifestyle, which prevent the microbes from getting a foothold. It is actually warmer along the Gulf Coast, which is free of dengue fever, than on the Caribbean islands, where the disease is endemic.
My own research shows that a warmer world would be a healthier one for Americans and would cut the number of deaths in the U.S. by about 40,000 per year, roughly the number killed on the highways.
A slowly rising sea level constitutes the only significant drawback to global warming. The best guess of the international scientists is that oceans will rise about 2 inches per decade.
The cost to Americans of building dikes and constructing levees to mitigate the damage from rising seas would be less than $1 billion per year, an insignificant amount compared to the likely gain of over $100 billion for the American people as a whole.

I really don't like the term 'world will end'. I think the thing we're worrying about is humans going extinct here. I highly doubt the entire planet will blow up on 2012, for example. But even if humans went extinct, it would happen over a period of time, not at whatever time is predicted on whatever day in december, 2012. I'm just worried about the fact that solar storms are predicted to occur in the same period as the doomsday idea. It makes it seem more likely, somehow ^^ but I'm a pessimist.

Did you hear?
Osama Bin Laden's son is trying to negotiate "peace," and as it says in the bible, a man of middle-eastern descent will rise up and bring "peace" to the world. He could be the Anti-Christ, Satan, and the one who will lead the world into peril and darkness for 7 years.

The sun will expand 4.5 Billion Years from Now, destroy Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and part of the asteroid belt.
But how will it end December, 12th, 2012?
It won't, it's an impossibility if that.
The Human Race ending however, very possible.
Global Warming will most likely do the lot of us in.
I've been monitoring Earthquakes for a little while now, they range world-wide about 20, maybe 30 a day. That's not normal.
Secondly, this could very well, be a test, like I've stated before, we've went wrong somewhere, and now to fix this mistake, we're going back to when we went wrong.
I looked this up, the only places that are 100% safe from Global Warming, is the Cradle of Life(Both Iraq and Western Africa), Northern China, Southern Mongolia, Southern South America, and the Mountains of Peru(which could actually be unsafe, I'm still looking into that one).
And it doesn't seem all that believable now, but things are going to get much worse and fast, then it won't be so unbelievable, if things do get much much worse, I'm sure as hell not sticking around here. But if things don't get any worse, then it doesn't matter, cause if the world is supossed to end 12/21/12 and it shows no signs, then it'll end in one big bang, via War, or via giant meteor, who knows.

Drought, South America has a large abundance of water, that should be fine, China and Mongolia should also be fine, Africa and Iraq, yes drought would happen.
Dehydration, Hunger, Lack of Resources, Overpopulation, Nuclear Leakage, no, if this is gonna happen, I'll be fully prepared, Overpopulation, Incen come on, no one will believe it strongly enough to leave their life for a few months and wait for something that might not even happen. Either way I'm doing it cause even if it doesn't end, that's probably one of my favorite things to do. Nuclear Leakage, probable in Iraq, but anywhere else no, the areas of China and Mongolia are very underpopulated, no nuclear factories or anything, same with South America and Western Africa.

Okay, but if all the nucs in the world explode, we're all fried meat. And potatoes.
Acid rain would come from that mushroom cloud covering the Earth, when it rains and pours all that stuff on us... but we'll be all dead by then anyhow..
Oh yes, choking never fails. Quick and reliable. :p

Oooooh My God I think I'ma bust a lung!
LOL!
See this is exactly why I don't belong to any religion.
Wow! lmao, wow.
Okay, so basically, for Christians, the World ends when their Savior returns to **** them all over.
1. That's friggin dumb no offense.
2. That's exactly why it won't happen. You can't incorporate Science and Life with Religion and Belief. Because if Jesus actually comes back to kill us, then all the non-Christians survive and just the Christians
Sorry...its just what I believe.

My science teacher mentioned an article about the end of the world that was in the papers today. According to this, the Earth has about 7.58 billion years left before it gets owned in the face. Owned in the face specifically by a Sun that'll get so huge that it'll consume Mercury, Venus, and the Earth. It was a fairly interesting rant. Lol.

lol yeah, she's wrong however.
The Sun has 9 billion years roughly till it becomes a red giant, then maybe two or three billion till it becomes a White Dwarf/ then a Brown Dwarf, then nothing.
We're about half way through the cycle now, so we have about 4.5 billion years left.
I got this from my Science Teacher as well except he's a Scientist/College Professor.

Well, the 7.58 billion years was just the most recent theory by scientists so whatever. All I know is that we'll all be long gone by the time this happens.

So anyway, I've got new arguements. Take for example the famous psychic Nostradamus (A man credited for possibly predicting 9/11, Hitler's Rise, the Death of King Henry the Third, and hundreds of other things) also stated that something would happen on 12/21/12, HOWEVER. His predictions don't end there, they continue up until the 3000s.
And time is relative.

remember the Y2K scare, people were saying that the world was going to end in the year 2000People didn't think the world was going to end. It was more that people thought computers were going to crash because some of them weren't necessarily equipped to flip from 1999 to 2000. And that the computers everywhere would crash if they couldn't handle it, which would send this modern age into chaos because so many things are handled by computers. In the end they did and it didn't matter.

The World is not going to end in 2012.
Armaggedon will pass by Earth but it wont destroy it.
Common after all we suckers(jk)die cockroaches will be the only ones alive.
My Uncle is a scientist(he studies space junk and all those thing) and he says that every year the moon moves away an inch from the Earth and the Gravity gets lower.Well one day The moon will totally go away and then the Earth will start spinning. One day its winter the next its summer then the plants will die and then we will die

i thought it was Feb 23, 2012.... all planets align and the gravitational feild around the planets will be thrown off and meteors and astroids could be thrown out of other orbits and hit earth... its not guarenteed end of the world but on that date the risks will actually be higher, its not just a random guess... and as for the mayens predicting this, they were actualy very advanced, and understood alot about how things worked, so they might have understood the effects of planets aligning and predicted the possable end of the world (they probly believed it whole-heartedly)...... but the fact that they predicted that date, doesnt change the fact that risks of impacts from meteors and astroids are dramaticly increased.

Wait. Does the gravitational field depend on the Moon? Because that sounds a bit perposterous. The sun and the Earth's gravitational field depend on each other. And what about those planets like Mercuary and Venus that have no moon?

No actually it'll happen one way because the physical size of the sun is too small to generate a supernova and even in the red giant stage what'll happen is it will just fizzle out enetually.

Possibly unlikely, but there is a chance of it being a supernova. Also it wouldn't just fizzle it will wither be a supernova or it will expand and consume at least the first 4 planets and then at some point implode.

What I was told, is we are half way through the sun's cycle as a Average Star, in 4.5 Billion years it'll turn into a Red Giant and expand past Mars, destroying the 1st 4 planets, then will implode, destroying the solar system and remain as a tiny tiny white dwarf and eventually fizzle out(I found my notes :D).
