If so, I don't go by genre.
I once said a certain band was one genre, and then I got told off by someone.
Saying that they weren't that genre at all, blahblahblah.
So I don't bother with genres anymore. XD

But bands?
I like a whole lot of things.
I used to like BMTH, FFTL, FATA, Chiodos and Drop Dead, Gorgeous.
And I still listen to them sometimes.

But at the moment, I'm more into.. I guess, the genres that majinsharingan said?
Stuff like La Roux, Phoenix, Klaxons...

Pfft, Oli is an amazing vocalist. Anyway, I don't know what the official term is for straight up bands like that, but for bands like underOATH, its called "Clean Vox" and "Unclean Vox" or "Screamed Vox".

No. Nononono. Amazing vocalists, there are many of them. Coincidentally they all have one fatal flaw...you can hear their VOICE. Screaming obnoxiously to a bad rhythm...is not consider vocal talent.

Bullet for My Valentine are a Welsh heavy metal band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The band is composed of Matt Tuck (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Michael Paget (lead guitar), Jason James (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums). They were formed under the name Jeff Killed John and started their music career by covering songs by Metallica and Nirvana. Jeff Killed John recorded six songs which were not released; two of these tracks were reworked later in their career as Bullet for My Valentine. The band has stated that their music is influenced by classic heavy metal acts such as Metallica, Iron Maiden and Slayer.This band deserves a thread. All BFMV fans unite!!!

Waking the demon, Last Fight and Hit the floor are my favorites right now. Hearts burst into Fire is also pretty nice. You nailed the correct songs :) They are the best of the albums. Tried Alone and Dignity?

Actual screamo? It's alright. This is not screamo though. I don't mind screaming, I just hate it when people suck at it. See: Bring Me The Horizon(that is the real "Brown Sound", a sound so bad it can make people shit their pants). BFMV doesn't suck at it though. Just didn't like the songs as much as the others because they were kind of cliche. Waking The Demon reminded me a lot of Avenged Sevenfold.

Well if one were to read BFMV's description in Wiki, it is mentioned that BFMV sounds something in between Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium.

I only have 1 song from them and it's Waking the Demon.
I don't really like BFMV, A7X, Trivium type of bands, they are just too mallcore for me. A7X is acceptable because the band is somewhat talented, except the lead singer where he has a nasty nasal voice.

What I like is Children of Bodom, In Flames, Scar Symmetry, Kalmah and Dark Tranquillity
