Don't call me on this, I still think Minato wins.
But depending on the date Kishimoto's Interview was released...Itachi could be stronger than Minato.
It's not likely but it's a possibility.

Ya even though Kishi said Minato was the strongest Shinobi, Itachi has Mangekyou up his sleeve. Its very dangerous and if he landeda hit with any of Mangekyous abilities, the fight would go to Itachi. If Itachi managed to land a Tsukiyomi on him, Itachi would have it because only a sharingan user can break out of it and a tsukiyomi would render Minato unable to fight. If he used Amateratsu, Minato would burn to death, and if Sasuno came out, Minato wouldnt be able to land a hit with Sasunos defence while Sasuno would only have to touch Minato with his sword and he is cast into eternal genjustu, (however he would have to hit Minato first and thats not easy with his body flicker jutsu). It all depends on who gets lucky with what attacks. If Minato can outlast Sasuno before he gets hit, than he would win becasue Itachi would be out of chakra and wouldnt be able to defend himself. It really could go either way.

Ya I agree with you 100% but if he was able to catch him with any of these it would all be over. His best chance would be tsukiyomi because he has cought almost everyone be surprise with it. When he talks to them he already has them in a genjutsu, so if he could get him in a quick genjutsu or Tsukyomi, it would all be over. But your right, the other two would probably not hit Minato.

Ya, I know what your saying, but remember he was able to catch Naruto twice in a genjutsu before Naruto even knew he had casted a spell so physical speed doesnt make a difference unless it is a physical attack.

Unfortunatly, I think your right about Itachi not being second best (I think its fair to say maybe third or fourth). I think they will probably make it Madara for now, but we all know that in the end, Naruto is going to become Hokage and be the strongest shinobi ever (not that thats what I want though)

To be honest he might have been refering to Madara. I mean we cant run around saying that as anything other than a theiry since we dont know what he is fully capable of. But I mean it could be a possibility that it is Itachi. But we wont know for sure.
