i think the point of them putting it on a disney channel is to get younger people to watch and provide something that is safer to put on television. it's not necessarily for the people who never watched on the internet. i think the company also figured that if you wanted to see it unedited so badly, you would just look it up online and not worry about the kiddie version. they did say that the demographic was boys between the ages of 6 and 14. and they definitely do not need to be influenced by more violence/ninja/war crap.
people have to pay more for digital cable then basic which kinda sucks. as for your point for disney putting naruto shippuden on their channel for something safe and popular to watch, all I can say as a person who watched all the sub episodes and read the manga that naruto shippuden is not a safe serious to watch nor is it suitable for young kids (by NA standards.) to watch.

exactly my point!
that's why they put it on Disney. anything that goes on there must be edited and cannot have themes that are unsuitable for children. so by putting shippuuden on disney, they're getting their demographic [boys ages 6-14] to watch it there instead of online. obviously a majority of us are out of this range so we just watch the subbed version online.
i think that dubbed shippuuden on disney is NOT for people who watch it subbed cause i mean, they don't expect us to read the manga and watch online and then go back 100+ eps just to watch some dubbed 'kiddie' series! they want certain kids to watch it and then they won't feel the need to go online and see all the extra cursing and violence they would see there and just watch the dubbed on a channel they relate to. if you can't appreciate that it's on the air, then don't watch since you've already seen it all anyway.

well this sucks, I just looked NS up on the tv listings and there saying no new shippuden for two weeks!

I have been downloading the uncut shippuden via PSN. The first episode is free and it's cheaper then spending $20 to buy only four episodes. I don't understand why they don't sale the box sets like they did before the time skip.

I haven't watched disney xd so I don't know the differences, but I im sure they have to edit it.

lol yesss. that's the whole point. enough people over 15 years old probably watch the online anime anyway or read the manga. but by editing the show, they will attract a younger audience and expand the number of people watching. if you're able to watch online or read the manga, then just do that.
no need to get fired up about a dubbed shippuuden you're most likely not gonna watch if it's like a hundred-something episodes behind anyway.
they just want more kids to watch it, and when something is put on television that is specifically for kids, it has to be edited. stop comparing it to the real version. they are just trying to get younger people to watch. the show's demographic is not directed to teens above age 15. so it's not like you absolutely have to watch it on tv.
